Ryan Bang Belied Rumors of Leaving Showbiz

Comedian Ryan Bang belied rumors saying he will leave the entertainment industry and the Philippines for good after he was booted out last week in ABS-CBN’s talent show “Showtime.”

In a live interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Bang said it is true that he will leave the Philippines in December, but only for a vacation.

The actor, who is Korean, said he already fell in love with the Philippines and he would want to spend the rest of his life here.

“Hindi totoo. Sinong nagsabi? Hindi totoo. Sa December sama kami Melai (Cantiveros), Jason Francisco para sa vacation. Kasi si Melai hindi pa siya nakakita ng snow. Pero babalik kami rito. Gusto ko nakatira dito hanggang mamatay ako,” he said.

“Kahit noong hindi pa ako showbiz, kahit wala na ako sa showbiz, mahal na mahal ko ang mga Pilipino,” Bang added.

He said he is still in touch with his “Showtime” family even if he already got evicted as one of the show’s judges.

“Araw-araw kami kita. Araw kami tawag. Kanina Kuya Billy tawag sa akin, si Kuya Vhong, Kuya Jugs, Kuya Teddy,” he said.

Bang said he does not hold any grudges against the “madlang people" who got him voted out.

“Hindi naman ako galit. Siyempre isang taon sinuportahan nila ako. Maraming salamat. Hindi ako galit. Kahit saan ako lakad, pinapansin nila ako. Salamat siyempre,” he said. “Ganyan talaga. Matagal na ako sa ‘Showtime.’ Naintindihan ko po.”

Sharon Cuneta Elated to Work with Young Stars

Aside from her upcoming movies with actors Gabby Concepcion and Richard Gomez, Megastar Sharon Cuneta revealed she is also slated to do a movie with some of the hottest young stars today.

Cuneta said she will be working with Gerald Anderson, Maja Salvador, Julia Montes and Enrique Gil in a Star Cinema movie that will be released as a Mother’s Day offering next year.

“Oo naman, [napapanood ko yung ibang shows nila]. Before kasi magka-pelikula, pinapa-approve muna yung casting. So I was excited when I saw that I’d be working with Gerald, Julia, and Enrique. I’m very happy,” she said during the movie story conference held last Tuesday.

“It was nice breaking the ice with the kids, kasi ngayon lang kami nagkasama-sama nila Gerald. I love working with new people,” she added.

Cuneta also said she is looking forward to be directed by Lauren Dyogi in this movie.

“Direk Lauren and I have become good friends because of ‘Biggest Loser’ and he's directing me for the first time. And since he directed Aga Muhlach in ‘All My Life,’ talagang dream ko talagang ma-direk ni Direk Lauren,” she said.

Cuneta said the still untitled movie will tackle family issues and her journey as a mother who was once a flight attendant and later became a customer service representative.

“Yung role ko super achiever, trabaho ng trabaho… So noong nagfo-focus na ako sa pamilya ko dahil kailangan na, wala akong masyadong relationships with each of my children. Apart from that, kinailangan ko magtrabaho sa isang call center. Parang total demotion from my previous job as a flight attendant. At the same time, maraming nakakatawang parts ng story na dapat abangan,” she said.

Although the movie is set to be shown in May 2012, Cuneta said the cast will already start shooting the film soon.

Vice Ganda Would Have Kept Ryan Bang in 'Showtime'

Television host and comedian Vice Ganda said that he would have kept Ryan Bang as a “Showtime” Hurado if given the choice.

In an interview with ABS-CBN's “E-Live” on Saturday, Vice admitted that having Bang in their show for a year gave him an opportunity to personally know him, thus, making it difficult for him to let go.

“Kung babaguhin ko 'yung buong mga pangyayari, kung wala sigurong ‘Hurado Burado,’ kung wala sigurong sistema ng botohan, iiwasan kong matanggal si Ryan Bang bilang mahal na mahal ko siya at masaya akong kapiling ko siya sa programang iyon,” he explained.

However, technically speaking, Vice clarified that he is in no position to defy what has been decided by the “madlang people.”

He said, “Since may proseso nga ng ‘Hurado Burado,’ at tinanong niyo ang opinyon ng madlang people, since tinanong niyo sila kung ano ang masasabi nila, dapat dinggin niyo kung ano ang sinasabi nila.”

“Gusto ng madlang people na pagpahingahin muna si Ryan Bang. Since sinabi ng madlang people na burado siya, sundin natin ‘yon.”

Though saddened by the public’s decision to vote out Bang, Vice said that he holds no grudge against them.

He said, “Wala akong tampo. Kahit si Ryan Bang sinabihan ko ‘Wala tayong karapatang magtampo. Magpasalamat ka kasi sila ang nagbigay sayo ng napakahabang panahon para makasama ka nila.’”

Bang stayed with “Showtime” for 48 weeks.

When he was voted out of the show last October 8, Actress Dimples Romana offered him her seat.

However, “Showtime” director Bobet Vidanes said that reinstating Bang in Romana’s place is against the eviction rules of the show.

Bea Alonzo to Do 'Reunion Project' with John Lloyd Cruz

Actress Bea Alonzo said she will be doing a "reunion project" with her former leading man, John Lloyd Cruz.

"Sa TV, next year na po 'yon. Makakasama ko na po ulit si John Lloyd after three years," Alonzo said during a press conference.

The actress hopes that she will start taping for the show early next year.

"Sana ay first quarter of next year," she said.

Alonzo was known as the long-time on-screen partner of Cruz. Their last TV project was "I Love Betty La Fea" in 2008.

Their last film project, meanwhile, was "Miss You Like Crazy" in 2010.
