ABS-CBN News Presents "Gunaw" Special Report

21 May 2011 is the day the world will end— at least according to Harold Camping, leader of a California-based religious network who visited Manila recently to predict the dreaded day.

Will doomsday come sooner than 2012? Catch the full story about Camping and his disciples’ intrepid prediction about the said apocalyptic prophecy in “ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Special Report” entitled “Gunaw” this Saturday (May 21).

ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs examines these possibilities and consults with scientists, astronomers, climate change proponents, and military experts on the possibility of humans facing extinction should any of these catastrophic events happen.

The special documentary will depict the terrifying scenarios that outline how the earth could end. With all the chaos happening around the world like the uprising in the Middle East, earthquake and tsunami in Japan, tornado and flooding in different parts of the world, is the world ending soon?

In The Name of Love Grosses PhP47.31 Million for First 5 Days

Star Cinema’s romantic drama “In the Name of Love” starring Angel Locsin and Aga Muhlach had an opening weekend gross of P47.31 million from May 11 to 15, 2011. It bested the opening weekend record of previous leader, Hollywood film “Fast Five”.

Coco Martin Earns Gawad Urian’s Dekada Award

Coco Martin adds another trophy to his myriad of awards as he receives this year’s Gawad Urian’s Dekada Award.

“Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” star, Coco, is one of the three Dekada Awardees for the 34th Gawad Urian. Veteran actresses namely Cherry Pie Picahe and Gina Pareno are also recipients of the said prestigious award.

Coco made a name for himself by slowly rising from the ranks. He has appeared in roughly 22 films–a mix of mainstream and indie movies, in his 8½ years active stay in showbusiness. Films like “Masahista,” “Tirador,” “Tambolista,” “Daybreak,” “Jay,” “Serbis,” “Kinatay,” “Noy,” and “Sa’yo Lamang” have fired up his passion for his craft and have sharpened his acting skills. In fact, in less than a decade, he has collected more than a dozen of awards and recognitions from different award-giving bodies making him a multi-awarded actor.

He has also proven his worth via his television projects which became television hits as well. The most recent is “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin,” which usually tops the nationwide ratings according to Kantar Media.
