Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 Finalist: Collins Gutierrez

Tonight's episode of Pilipinas Got Talent featured 24-year-old Collins Gutierrez, a music teacher and an experienced stage performer from San Pedro, Laguna.

For his audition piece, Collins sang Wency Cornejo's "Hanggang" which sounded so great and earned him a big "YES" from the 3 judges.

Collins Gutierrez Fleischner was born in Pasig City to an Austrian dad and a Filipino mom, but his parents got divorced when he was 4 and his father moved back to Austria since then.

He took up his high school at the Colegio San Agustin in Biñan, Laguna.

Collins finished his studies in Australia at the Sydney Conservatory of Music in 2008 and he already performed in various venues in Australia.

When he moved back to the Philippines the same year, he staged solo shows in different malls and later performed with the Serenata Strings band usually in SM Malls.

Diego Loyzaga on Mara Clara

One of the newest faces in the industry, Diego Loyzaga, gets his feet wet in acting as he enters the top-rating primetime series on ABS-CBN, “Mara Clara” as Derrick this week.

His role was formerly portrayed by Rico Yan in the original ‘Mara Clara’ series.

“The pressure is there. But, I’ll put that pressure into good use. Mas lalo ko po pagiigihan,” Diego shared when asked if he feels any pressure knowing that he will be part of “Mara Clara.”

When asked if he’s ready to conquer showbusiness, Diego answered, “Opo naman. I feel that I am prepared. I underwent workshops under Direk Laurice Guillen and Malou de Guzman for my role here in ‘Mara Clara’.”

Diego, 15 years old, is the son of showbiz greats namely Cesar Montano and Teresa Loyzaga. He signed a three-year exclusive contract under the Kapamilya network. Diego is now co-managed by ABS-CBN’s training and management program, Star Magic.

The countdown to the crown continues as Bb. Pilipinas 2011 airs its Pageant Primer on April 3 at ABS-CBN.

Entitled “The Road to the Crown”, the pre-pageant party was held at the posh Republiq at Resorts World and was an exclusive “by invitation” affair for the pageant’s directors, VIPs and corporate sponsors.

A highlight of the event, hosted by Borgy and TJ Manotoc along with Ms. Universe Philippines Venus Raj, was the parade of the forty official candidates as they donned their stylized Filipiniana gowns designed by different leading designers of the country.

“The Road to the Crown” also features the activities that the girls have been engaged in since they passed the initial screenings. These include the fashion show at the Gateway Mall, talent competition at the New Ali Mall, charity and outreach visits to CRIBS and other institutions, fashion and beauty workshops conducted by Bb. Pilipinas former queen turned stylist and beauty coach Nina Ricci Alagao, and the television commercial shoot for Cream Silk among others. The pageant’s media partner, ABS-CBN also unveiled to the evening’s captivated audience the finished products of a glossy photo shoot conducted by Nicolo Cosme. BPCI and Cumbia provided the outfits and accessories.

Among the guests who graced the party were BPCI’s Stella Marquez Araneta and the BPCI executive board, current and past Bb. Pilipinas beauty titlists incuding Ms. Universe Philippines Venus Raj and representatives from the pageant’s corporate sponsors that include Unilever’s Cream Silk, Megaworld Corporation, Philippine Airlines and Hotel Sofitel.

On April 3, the Bb. Pilipinas 2011 candidates along with the current Bb. Pilipinas queens will participate in a grand Parade of Beauties around the Araneta Center. The Grand Coronation Night will be held at the Big Dome on April 10 and aired live on ABS-CBN. Bb. Pilipinas 2011’s corporate partners are Cream Silk, Megaworld Corporation, Philippine Airlines and Hotel Sofitel. Illegal Tow Trucks on XXX

Isang negosyante ang nagrereklamo dahil sa tuwing mapapadaan at mahinto lang daw ang kanilang mga truck sa Quezon City ay agad agad daw itong tino-tow.

Kaya naman nag-ikot si Anthony Taberna sa lugar at sinundan ang truck na pagmamay-ari ng ginoo. Tumugma naman ang kaganapan sa kanyang salaysay dahil nahinto nga lang saglit ang truck ay tino-tow na ito agad ng isang towing truck na may pangalang “Istar.”

Nang tanungin ang Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) sa City Hall tungkol dito, napag-alamang bukod sa mali ang ginagawang pagto-tow sa sasakyan, hindi rin pala awtorisado ang mga ito.

Ad Boycott for Willie Revillame's Show

Nabalita kahapon na sinususpinde ng Jollibee Foods Corporation ang ad placement nito sa programang Willing Willie kasunod ng kontrobersiya sa umano’y pang-aabuso nito sa isang bata.

“Inihihinto ng Mang Inasal ang ad placement nito sa Willing Willie sa linggong ito,” sabi ng JFC Corporate Media sa pahayag nito sa Facebook page nito kahapon.

Lumitaw ang pahayag ng JFC sa kainitan ng isang kampanya na iboykot ang mga produkto ng mga advertiser ng naturang show na inilulunsad sa iba’t ibang social media site sa internet.

Sa isang liham kay Froilan Grate ng Facebook group na Para kay Jan-Jan (alyas ng anim na taong gulang na batang lalaking pinasayaw na tulad ng macho dancer sa show habang umiiyak sa episode nito noong Marso 12), sinabi ni JFC representative Pauline Lao, nabatid ng kanilang kumpanya ang isyu at ang mga sentimyento rito.

Toni Gonzaga on her Sexy Pictures on a Magazine

Although she says she’s not ready for a sexier image when it comes to movies, Toni Gonzaga had no qualms about doing a sexy pictorial for the cover of a popular fashion magazine. The 27 year-old says that even though she is used to being covered up, she didn’t mind wearing less than usual for the pictorial. “Hindi, kasi summer, alangan naman mag-Maria Clara tayo ‘pag summer. Siyempre ‘pag summer medyo summer attire pero hindi naman tayo bo-border sa ipapakita na natin lahat. Very, very light lang. Light lang talaga lahat. Hindi naman tuloy-tuloy siguro kasi nagkataon lang na summer. Alam ko na hindi ko naman pinakita lahat. I was consulted with the clothes so walang problema yung shoot because I was well taken care of by the staff. The last time I did a cover shoot with them was nung 2005 pa. After six years saka pa lang ako ulit pumayag. Tapos sabi nila gusto nila something different lang naman. Not totally different, little lang,” she shared after her contract-signing with Star Cinema held last March 29 at the ABS-CBN compound.

Toni admitted that she still had some reservations when it comes to wearing swimsuits for the camera. “Personally, my choice was hindi ko kaya na full-on na two-piece talaga na bra at panty. Hindi ko pa kaya. So yun lang. Sinabi naman nila na since it’s summer they’ll give me variations na hindi naman siya parang two-piece na sexy. Tapos I said sige, okay naman ako. ‘Pag mapapansin niyo naman yung cover, hindi siya talaga full-on two-piece all the way,” she said.

When she saw the layout, Toni said she was happy with the result. She didn’t encounter any problem with her boyfriend Paul Soriano either. “Natuwa naman ako kasi ngayon ko lang nakita yung ganung itsura ko so nakakatuwa naman. Of course si Direk Paul naiintindihan niya yung trabaho ko at saka alam naman niya, kilala naman niya ako so kung ano man yung desisyon na ginagawa ko, hindi niya pinagdududahan naman yun because he trusts me,” she said.

When it came to her parents, Toni said her Mommy Pinty had some reservations about the photos. “Si Mommy Pinty, medyo nagkaroon lang ng konting reaction at text messaging (laughs). She said there was too much cleavage. Too much lang naman. Pero sabi ko 27-years old na ako, hindi 17 years old. Nakakalimutan niya. Akala niya kaka-mens ko lang eh (laughs). Akala niya kahapon lang ako nagkaroon. Hindi niya alam bente-siyete na yung anak niya. So yun lang naman,” she shared.

Her father on the other hand, has yet to find out about the whole matter. “Actually itong mga pag-uusap na ito, hindi pa ito alam ni Daddy. That’s also a different story. Itong Mommy Pinty medyo napakikiusapan natin yan, the daddy, iha-hide namin talaga ito. Hindi niya malalaman itong mga pangyayaring ito (laughs),” she said in jest.

All in all, Toni said she is proud of how her cover pictorial came out. “Siyempre ‘pag summer alam mo naman na may konting skin so very light ang clothes. Actually hindi naman siya ganun ka-big deal kasi nung nakita ng mommy ko, nagkaroon lang ng konting text react tapos nag-move on na siya. Kasi okay naman. It was not done in a trashy way. Alam naman natin yung reputation nung mag, they always do classy shoots and I personally have no complaints din. Wala naman akong any reaction,” she said reassuringly.

Goin' Bulilit Summer Special

Ang pagsapit ng tag-init ay isa sa mga pinaka-aabangang panahon kung saan walang sawa at walang kapaguran sa paglalaro ang mga bata. Kaya naman sobrang excited na ang mga Goin’ Bulilit kids na mag-participate sa iba’t ibang mga summer activities at games.

Eh paborito ko naman po talaga ang mga fruits. Favorite ko din po ang halo-halo at fruit shakes,” ani Clarence.

Samantala, walang-humpay na katatawanan ang ihahatid ng mga Goin’ Bulilit kids sa kanilang summer getaway special sa Amana Water Park Resort ngayong Linggo, pagkatapos ng TV Patrol Weekend sa ABS-CBN. Opening pa lang ay siguradong purong katatawanan sa kanilang sariling bersyon ng Happy Yipee Yehey! theme song.

Siguradong purong ka-cute-an at kakwelahan din ang hatid ng mga Bulilits kanilang mga gag jokes at spoof segment na “Check, Chek, Chek”. Kapana-panabik na games and activities ang kanilang handog.

Umaapaw na summer sorpresa ang hatid ng ika-6 na taon ng Goin’ Bulilit kaya huwag palampasin ang ngayong Linggo, pagkatapos ng TV Patrol Weekend.

ABS-CBN Launches Tayo Ang TFC Station ID

The Filipino Channel (TFC), the largest 24/7 in-language television network serving Filipinos all over the world, announced recently its first ever global affinity campaign that will be launched simultaneously in all regions where TFC is carried – a first in its 17-year history.

Tayo Ang TFC (We Are TFC) will kick off on April 3 via a new station identity (SID) on the show ASAP Rocks on ABS-CBN in the Philippines and on TFC in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Japan and Australia. Lending his voice to the new SID’s theme song, Tayo Ang TFC, is world-renowned singer Jed Madela, 2005 Senior Grand Champion Performer of the World at the prestigious World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Burbank, California.

Rico Yan Remembered

Nine years ago, the entertainment industry mourned the death of actor Rico Yan. He was among the most in demand actors of his generation.

In commemoration of his death anniversary this year, a mass was held at the ABS-CBN chapel on Tuesday officiated by Fr. Tito Caluag.

One of Yan’s career milestones was when he played the role of Gabriel in the ABS-CBN hit television series “Mula Sa Puso.”

Contestant Wins Big in The Price is Right

Excitement in the game show “Price is Right” continued even if it was moved to a new timeslot and a new airing day.

During the show’s first Saturday live airing, another contestant brought home the grand prize after bidding a price that was within the allowable range of the actual total cost of the package he was asked to guess.

Regie Santos, a food attendant in Mang Inasal, took home prizes worth more than P1.2 million.

The package includes a footware showcase with 5 display shelves and an ottoman chair, a 6-seater dining room set, and a brand new Mitsubishi Strada truck.

Santos, 21, also took home P160,000 in cash. He is the show’s 5th grand winner.

“Maraming maraming salamat po, unang una sa inyo Ma’am Kris, sa Panginoon po, sa Price is Right, sa ABS-CBN. Noong una hindi po ako makapasok dahil mahaba po ang pila. Pero gustong gusto ko po kasi chance na po ito and sayang naman po ang effort namin. Ito na pala ang para sa akin. Maraming maraming salamat po,” he said.

Show host Kris Aquino shared his joy.

“Unbelievable sweep! Napaka swerte ni Regie. 160K cash - showcase worth 1.113M!!! WOW,” she said in her official Twitter account.

The “Price is Right” now airs every Saturday after “Failon Ngayon.”
