Luis Manzano Considers His E-Live Interview With Mariel Rodriguez a Good Start

Although TV hosts Luis Manzano and Mariel Rodriguez seem to have patched up their differences on "E-Live" last Feb. 5, he refuses to say "okay na, tapos na ang usapan" between them.

"Siguro more talks lang (between us) sana kasi medyo iba din ‘yung napatutok kami bigla sa harap ng camera,” he said on "Showbiz News Ngayon," Feb. 8.

Luis and Mariel's months-long feud stemmed from a report that he got irritated after Mariel allegedly told her husband Robin Padilla that Luis tried to kiss her.

Luis recalled seeing Mariel again for the interview, which he admits felt "awkward" at first. As soon as they launched into it, however, Luis said "nailabas namin ‘yung kung sino kami bilang magkaibigan dati.”

Toni Gonzaga on Competing With Eat Bulaga!

We're just here to give an alternative to make the people happy.

"At the end of the day, kaya kami nagsama-sama is because gusto rin naming magpasaya ng mga Kapamilya.

So, I did ASAP, 'yong variety show.

And I waited six year.

"Mahirap din naman tumanggi at sabihin na ayaw ko dahil I'm taking it as a blessing.

"Hindi na matutuloy because of this.

Tingnan na lang namin 'yong good effect, 'yong good side."

So, I took that as a sign na okay na ang lahat dahil inimbitahan niya ako sa birthday niya," pag-alala ni Toni.

John Estrada's Wedding Exclusive on ABS-CBN

The exclusive coverage of the upcoming wedding of John Estrada with Brazillian model Priscilla Meirelles will be granted to ABS-CBN, instead of TV5. This is due to the decision of John to work with the new noontime show of ABS-CBN and TV5 removing him on his comedy sitcom.

John admitted he is in high spirits in anticipation for his upcoming nuptials despite the fact that Willie Revillame will not be one of his best men anymore. The 37-year-old comedian-host said he originally planned to have two of his closest friends in showbiz stand with him at the altar to be with his new bride, but with the recent turn of events, it looks like it will just be his former Palibhasa Lalake co-star Richard Gomez who will take that position. “Dalawa talaga sila ni Goma na best man. So si Goma na lang ngayon. Wala na akong magagawa dun kung nag-back out siya. Desisyon na niya yun. Sa akin lang naman, kung ‘di man siya sisipot, as long as sisipot si Priscilla, masaya na ako. (laughs),” he said in jest during the Happy Yipee Yehey! presscon held last February 8 at the Dolphy theater inside the ABS-CBN compound.

Although he was initially in talks with TV5 for the coverage of his wedding, John said that he decided to give exclusive rights to ABS-CBN after the recent turn of events, which included him getting unexpectedly axed from a show on his former network a short while after accepting ABS-CBN’s offer to do a noontime show. But John said that TV5 has accepted the fact that he changed his mind about whom to give the TV rights to. Ganun.

John Estrada Out of TV5 Sitcom

The conflict between celebrity friends John Estrada, Randy Santiago and Willie Revillame is far from over.

In fact, the tension escalated to new heights after John, who is part of the regular cast of "Everybody Hapi" on TV5, has been removed from the program.

"Ang masakit lang po, e, noong ipinaglaban ko, bigla pong sinabi sa akin na aalisin na ako sa programang 'yon," John lamented during the press conference of "Happy Yipee Yehey" on Tuesday at the Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN.

He added that because of what happened, he decided to resign from his other show, the Sunday noontime variety program "PO5."

Kung alam naman po natin kung paano mag-isip, we can read between the lines."

Before he accepted the offer to host the noontime show "Happy Yipee Yehey!" on ABS-CBN, John made it clear to ABS-CBN Channel 2 chief Cory Vidanes and Entertainment TV head Linggit Tan that he has no intentions of leaving his regular stints in TV5.

"At sinabi ko roon sa lamesang 'yon, (during a lunch to discuss details of the noon time show) 'Pasensiya na po, hindi ko puwedeng iwanan [ang TV5] dahil sila ang nagbigay sa akin ng sitcom na matagal ko nang hinihingi dito [ABS-CBN]," said John. "Hindi namin iiwanan ang Channel 5. We're doing this one, ‘Happy, Yipee, Yehey!,' pero ibalato n'yo na po sa amin 'yon," added John, recalling what happened during the meeting with the ABS-CBN executives.

However due to the sudden turn of events, John decided to end ties with TV5.

ABS-CBN alters the color of love as it gives you another television masterpiece starting February 14, “Green Rose.”

A local adaptation of the Koreanovela with the same title, “Green Rose” fuses four of the most-admired stars of today—Jericho Rosales, Anne Curtis, Jake Cuenca and Alessandra De Rossi as they portray major roles in the said series.

Jericho, whose last teleserye with ABS-CBN is ‘Dahil May Isang Ikaw’ opposite Kristine Hermosa, will breathe life to the character of Jerome Delgado, a simple man with simple dreams in life. He will do everything to protect his name. “Maganda yung papel ko dito. I can say na this is one of my favorite projects,” Jericho shared.

Meanwhile, Anne, whose last full-series was “The Wedding” back in 2009, is now very excited to play the role of Angela Tuazon, the woman who will fall in love with Jerome Delgado. “Namiss ko maging part ng teleserye talaga. Kaya now that I’m given the chance again, I will definitely do my best,” Anne expressed.

Jericho and Anne were paired in the film “Baler” in 2008 where Anne was nominated three times in separate award-giving bodies under the Best Actress category. On the other hand, Jericho won two Best Actor awards for his effective portrayal in the said movie.

Jake, who was part of the “Rubi” remake, is ecstatic about ABS-CBN’s upcoming primetime series “Green Rose,” “Eversince we started taping for Green Rose, excited na ko na umere yung series dahil, walang bola po, ang ganda ng kwento. Jake is Edward Fuentabella in the series, a man who’s aggressive in achieving his goals even if it means betraying the people who have trusted him.

Alessandra will also be playing a vital part in the series as she portrays the character of Geena Rallos, the woman who’s willing to do anything for the love of Edward. Alessandra was last seen in ‘Wansapanataym’s Cara.’

Jericho, Anne, Jake and Alessandra will be supported by a league of high-caliber actors and actresses– Susan Africa, Ping Medina, Smokey Manaloto, Kitkat, Gardo Versoza, Ricardo Cipeda and Janus del Prado.

Directed by three critically-acclaimed directors in the country, Dondon Santos, Manny Palo and Darnel Joy Villaflor, “Green Rose” is an action-suspense drama that also tackles on a love story tweaked by dangerous factors.

Kristine's Explosive Ending this Friday

The lives of Bernard (Zanjoe Marudo), Marco (Rafael Rosell), and Jewel (Cristine Reyes) will be in danger once again in the explosive last episodes of “Martha Cecilia’s Kristine.”

Desperate to get the Fortalejo fortune, Margarita (Irma Adlawan) will kidnap Bernard and Jewel’s son Baby Leonard and will threaten to kill the baby if Jewel doesn’t find the necklace of Don Leon (Lito Legaspi).

While more lives become endangered with Margarita’s 24-hour deadline to Jewel, her conspirator Diana (Bangs Garcia) will have to choose between saving Bernard and allowing him to harm’s way as a way of revenge against him.

Find out if they will escape Margarita’s wrath as the show that has heated up the nights of viewers for almost six months closes this week.

Meanwhile, Zanjoe shared that it has been hard for him to believe that their program is about to end.

His leading lady, Cristine, said the show has been a very good experience as she learned a lot from her peers, the staff, and their director Rory Quintos.

Cristine said parting ways with the group is like entering a long-distance relationship.

Asked what she will miss most about the show, she said, “yung off-screen kulitan namin ng mga cast.

Don’t miss the electrifying last week of the epic TV adaptation of the country’s number one pocketbook series, “Martha Cecilia’s Kristine,” after “Imortal” on ABS-CBN.

"Mismo" on DZMM

Showbiz talk show veteran Jobert Sucaldito and comic radio anchor Ahwel Paz are teaming up in DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and DZMM TeleRadyo’s newest showbiz-oriented program “Mismo” on weekday afternoons beginning Monday (Feb 14) at 3pm.

Combining their share of wit, exclusive showbiz scoops, and no-holds-barred commentaries, Jobert and Ahwel are expected to further heat up DZMM’s afternoon entertainment block, which starts at 12:30pm with “MMK sa DZMM,” featuring inspiring stories of Filipinos narrated by ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio, followed by the standards sound trip with Jun Banaag on “Dr. Love” at 1pm, and ends with “Mismo” at 3pm to 4pm.

“With the addition of Ahwel, the show will have more fun and more segments. I’m sure the commentaries will be more serious though we will keep the lighter side of showbizness in our program,” said Jobert, who has been on radio the past nine years after rising to prominence on TV some 16 years ago.

One more thing to watch out for according to Jobert is his and Ahwel’s “debate” on the hottest issues. “We will have an exchange of comments on showbiz items but there’s definitely no competition between us,” he clarified, when asked if they will be the “Dos por Dos” version of showbiz talk show.

Ahwel began in DZMM as a resident judge of the station’s search for the best stand-up comic in “L.O.L” (Laugh Out Loud) in 2008 and has contributed his expertise for the success of DZMM World Caravan campaign.

The funny anchor expressed joy in his comeback to DZMM and his being paired with Jobert. “It’s a great blessing to be a part of the DZMM family, to have the chance to share my talents and entertain people.”

Together, Jobert and Ahwel hope to come up with a better showbiz talk show, one that not will not only feature the latest in showbiz news and help propel the careers of up and coming names in the industry but also be the source of truth in showbiz.

“Radio is my life. I’m a writer and host. We’ll make sure we give them right updates. We’ll tell the truth, just the truth. We are passionate in every detail. Wala kaming kakampihan,” he said.

Don’t miss the debut of “Mismo” with Jobert Sucaldito and Ahwel Paz on DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable ch. 26) on Monday (Feb 14).

John Estrada Stressed That ABS-CBN's Offer Comes First Before TV5

As ABS-CBN’s newest noontime variety show Happy Yipee Yehey debuts this Saturday, February 12, the issue between its main hosts John Estrada and Randy Santiago and their good friend and former MTB co-host Willie Revillame has not died down. Willie has reportedly severed communications with his two friends after he found out they signed up again with ABS-CBN. But during the February 8 presscon for Happy Yipee Yehey held at the Dolphy Theater inside ABS-CBN compound, John clarified that there was never really any binding contract between him and Willie. “There was never a formal agreement. Usapang barkada yun. Our first offer came from ABS-CBN. I spoke with the bosses of TV5 and they gave a serious offer nung dumating ang ABS-CBN. Meaning, gumawa sila ng counter offer. Yun po yun. Nauna talaga yung ABS-CBN,” he shared, speaking also on Randy Santiago’s behalf.

When Willie found out about their contract with ABS-CBN, he called up John via cellphone on air during his variety show and berated John for not considering his offer. This was a totally unexpected move considering John thought he would be able to clarify things with his friend. “Hindi ko alam na live pala ako. Akala ko mag-uusap lang kami. That night when he called me up, sasabihin ko na, alam ko magagalit siya, nag-eksplika ako ng maayos. Pero hindi nga ako naka-react eh. Kaya wala akong masabi over the phone. Pinakinggan ko na lang siya. At the same time, ang huling sinabi ko sa kanya, tatawagan ko na lang siya ulit kasi hindi kami magkakaintindihan eh. That was the last time we talked,” he shared.

John also showed his unwillingness to burn bridges with his friend by not sharing with some press people’s sentiments that what Willie did was a form of power-tripping, because he chose to broadcast what was supposed to be a private conversation between friends. “To be honest, ang daming nagsasabi sa akin that it was power tripping na ginawa niya yun.

Another issue that further fueled the flames of their rift was his absence at Willie’s 50th birthday celebration held last January 29, which he and Randy Santiago were reportedly supposed to host. “Hindi naman sa hindi kami dumating. Hindi na kami inimbita. To set the record straight, hindi na kami pinaimbita.

Toni Gonzaga Waited Six Years to Host a Noontime Show in ABS-CBN

For the first time since she became a Kapamilya, Toni Gonzaga finally agreed to host a daily noontime show via Happy Yipee Yehey. Apparently, she refrained from doing so to avoid conflict when she first transferred to ABS-CBN in 2004. Although nandun talaga yung level of comfortability ko when it comes to hosting, kasi mas dun ako nasanay, dun ako nagsimula. So instead I did ASAP, which is a variety show. So I’ve waited six years for this to happen,” she said during the grand press con of Happy Yipee Yehey last February 8.

As a matter of fact, Willie Revillame also asked her to co-host the now-defunct noontime show, Wowowee, at that time. Kasi I’m taking it as a blessing para pagkatiwalaan ng management sa isang ganitong programa kasama sila kuya John (Estrada), kuya Randy (Santiago), Mariel (Rodriguez) and the rest of the cast. Ang hirap-hirap magsabi ng no, so yun.”

Toni further explained that it’s not as if having her as host is a huge threat to Happie Yippie Yehey’s rival program. As it is, she and her co-hosts would rather focus on doing their job than worry about TV ratings. We’re just here to give an alternative to make the people happy. At the end of the day, kaya kami nagkasama-sama is because gusto namin magpasaya ng kapamilya kasi ‘di ba nawalan po tayo ng noontime show. So ngayon babalik kami kami para makapagbigay ng pera, magbigay ng saya at in a way makapag-inspire ng mga kapamilya natin araw-araw.”

But she did not deny the fact that her movie with Vic Sotto got cancelled because of her decision to be part of Happy Yipee Yehey. “Yeah, hindi na siya tuloy because of this. So tignan na lang natin yung good effect or yung brighter side of things,” she added.

Toni also answered the issue of possible overexposure since she’ll be hosting three shows in all— Happy Yipee Yehey on weekdays plus ASAP and The Buzz on Sundays.
