Jovit Baldivino on the Repeat of His Faithfully Concert

Bagong Concert Prince ang tawag kay Jovit Baldivino pagkatapos ng matagumpay niyang first major concert sa Aliw Theater last year.

Ngayon ay may take two na ang kanyang Faithfully concert. Gaganapin ito sa Waterfront Hotel sa Lahug, Cebu on February 11, kung saan ay guests niya ay sina Jason Francisco at Melai Cantiveros, Markki Stroemn at ang Kapuso star na si Aljur Abrenica.

Masusundan pa ito sa February 26 sa Music Museum na ipo-produce ng MJM Productions.

Si Jovit ang first winner ng Pilipinas Got Talent. Tinanong siya ng kung bakit niya laging gine-guest si Melai sa kanyang concert. Inspirasyon ba niya ito?

"Malambing si Melai. Mabait po siya," aniya.

Kung wala si Jason, na boyfriend ni Melai, liligawan ba niya ito?

"Hindi po. Magkaibigan po kami. Hanggang magkaibigan lang po kami. Bata pa ako," sagot ni Jovit.

"Nakakahiya naman kung liligawan ko siya. Kakuwentuhan ko, tapos liligawan? Hanggang kaibigan lang. At saka tropa ko si Jason, kababayan ko. Hindi katalo."

Handa na ba siya magkaroon ng ka-loveteam?

"Kahit sino po. Sila na ang bahala kung sino gusto nilang i-partner sa akin," sagot niya.

Type ba niya na makasama si KC Concepcion?

"Gusto ko siya makasama sa isang concert kung mabibigyan ng pagkakataon. Kasi wala po siyang pinipili, mayaman, mahirap, malinis, marumi. Yun ang nakikita ko sa kanya."

Hindi ba siya natatakot na mawala dahil magkakaroon na ulit ng Pilipinas Got Talent?

"Yun po ang kinakatakutan ko pero natutuwa ako na may PGT. Iniisip ko po na ako po ang pinaka-inspirasyon ng marami para magpakita sila ng iba-iba nilang talent."

May kaba ba siya na baka matabunan siya?

"Hindi ko naman iniisip na matatabunan ako. Tao na lang po ang bahalang magpasya. At saka susuportahan ko po sila," sagot ni Jovit.

Paano naman niya ipapaliwanag ang hindi matapos-tapos na intriga sa kanya na nagdadamo diumano siya bago mag-show?

"Hindi naman po," ang kanyang sagot.

"Ang masasabi ko lang, kung tunay na gumagamit ako nun kahit ipa-drug test nila ako. Ni minsan, hindi po ako nakatikim nang ganoon."

"Hindi ako nagagalit sa nang-iintriga sa akin. Ang masasabi ko lang sa kanila ayusin lang muna nila ang buhay nila bago ako," sabi ni Jovit.

Jericho Rosales Valentine Concert

Jericho Rosales will croon his way into the hearts of concertgoers via an intimate Valentine’s performance titled “And I Love Her” to be held Feb. 11 and 12 at Teatrino, Promande, Greenhills.

Jericho, who’s carved a name for himself as a powerful dramatic actor, has gained both fame and respect from the entertainment industry as well as his peers for his award-winning performances in both movies and television, a distinction that only very few actors have achieved. Zanjoe Marudo and Bea Alonzo Pairs Up for MMK Valentine Special

Zanjoe Marudo and Bea Alonzo are set to appear in the longest running drama anthology on Philippine television, "Maalaala Mo Kaya” (MMK), this coming Valentine’s Day.

This is the second time that Marudo and Alonzo will star in an episode of MMK.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Thursday, both stars revealed that it was a bit uncomfortable for them to work alongside each other. They recently admitted that they are going out on dates.

“Nagkakapaan pa muna kami ngayon... nakakailang. Parang mas close na kasi kami ngayon so nakakailang umarte in front of him so dapat ma-overcome ang feeling na ‘yon,” said Alonzo.

“Second time namin ito magkakasama sa MMK...Nandoon po ‘yong naiilang ako kasi magaling na artista ang kasama ko,” Marudo said.

Marudo vowed to give his best so that the avid viewers of MMK will like it

“Love story ito ng mga taong iba't iba ang paniniwala. Aktibista kami sa school... Abangan kung paano mai-in love ang dalawang tao na iba ‘yong paniniwala sa buhay,” he said.

Meanwhile, the hunk actor declared that he does not want to spend Valentine’s Day with anybody else but Alonzo.

“Sana kami magkasama sa Valentine’s, sana wala siyang trabaho,” he shared.

Alonzo, however, has work commitments that day. “Pareho kaming may trabaho, ewan ko na lang anong mangyayari ng post or pre-Valentine’s.”

As of the moment, the 2 stars disclosed that they are thankful that they get to spend time with each other even in work.

Last January 12, Marudo confessed that he is wooing Alonzo.

That was the first time he shared something about his personal life after breaking up with his former girlfriend, TV host Mariel Rodriguez, in March of last year.

Piero Vergara Happy for His Transfer to ABS-CBN

After transferring to the Kapamilya network, upcoming actor Piero Vergara has been busy with projects like Shoutout Level Up and Primetime Bida’s newest fantaserye Mutya. The 17-year-old cutie from Cebu City admitted he feels very lucky to have been chosen as part of these shows despite being former talent of a rival network. Piero said that he knows that not all actors are given this kind of chance so he hopes to prove his worth in the months to come. “They gave me an opportunity and it’s a matter of what I make of it so it gets me really nervous because I could screw it up if I don’t do well. Parang nako-conscious ako sobra. I was entrusted with these roles so parang it’s a really big pressure for me to deliver especially since I just started here in ABS-CBN,” he shares during the press conference for Mutya held last January 27 at the ABS-CBN compound.

Along with the today’s hottest batch of upcoming teen stars, Piero is also seen weekdays on the musical variety show Shoutout Level Up. Piero said that it was not hard for him to adjust to the group because everyone treats each other as friends on and off the set. “As far as I see it, wala namang ganung klase ng competition. The mood there is very light. Like I said, parang playground lang talaga. I think a share a pretty good relationship with everybody naman. I enjoy working with everybody in Shoutout because it’s a very young batch, very enthusiastic, it’s so inspired. It really brings the best out of everybody,” he said.

Piero admitted that he has also been trying to encourage his other friends in the industry to try out for the show despite the show’s more challenging format which encourages its cast to show off their best talents. “I actually tell a lot of people, ‘Dude you got to join Shoutout!’ It’s the best. In a way, we get paid to just have fun. Pero now it’s more tense, the pressure really sinks down on you talaga nowadays,” he admitted.

As an aspiring singer and songwriter, Piero hopes to get the chance to perform one of his songs on the show someday. “I auditioned one of my songs in Shoutout recently kasi they have a new system. It’s a scarier system. You would not believe the tension that we have to sit through on the set,” he said. But Piero admitted all the pressure is worth it considering he is on the right path towards his goal of becoming an acknowledged singer. “What has always been on my mind when I got into show business is to start up a singing career. I write songs so I thought that getting into television would be a very good medium for me to express my songs. I normally I do mga acoustic alternative type of music,” he shared.

In Mutya, Piero plays the role of Dennis, the cocky, spoiled son of veteran actress Sandy Andolong, for which he underwent an acting workshop under Pen Medina. “Galing kami sa mahirap tapos yumaman kami. In the story I’m a good guy, but I act like a bad guy. Mayabang ako dito dahil I came from an International school tapos I’m kind of a brat who doesn’t know what I’m doing with my life, parang ganun,” he shared. This is his first drama series after entering showbiz in 2009.

ABS-CBN Maintains Leadership in January 2011

ABS-CBN Corporation, the country’s largest Filipino-owned multimedia conglomerate, opened the year 2011 on top as its programs continue to dominate the national TV ratings, according to the latest report of Kantar Media.

For the month of January, ABS-CBN’s garnered a 40% audience share or nine points higher than GMA’s 31% on primetime despite the Kapuso channel’s two new nightly offerings.

ABS-CBN’s primetime series “Noah” starring Piolo Pascual and Zaijian Jaranilla got a 27.6% rating or 4.6 points higher than “Dwarfina” when GMA launched it last January 10.

More Filipinos preferred the remake of “Mara Clara” on ABS-CBN which rated even higher with 29.6% or 10.6 points more than the remake of “Machete” when it debuted on GMA last January 24 with only 19%.

On the other hand, ABS-CBN’s own new offering, the fantaserye “Mutya,” instantly made a splash with a rating of 32.6% during its maiden episode last January 31.

Overall, nine ABS-CBN programs made it to the country’s top 10 most-watched programs in January topped by “Mutya.”

In close second was “Mara Clara” with an average rating of 30% and followed by “Noah” with 27.7%.

“TV Patrol,” the most-viewed primetime newscast in the country, obtained a 27.2% national ratings and placed third in the top 10 list.

For its timeslot, “TV Patrol” has been consistently beating “24 Oras” (20.8%) and TV5’s “Willing-Willie” (12.8%), contrary to the impression being claimed by other sources.

The other ABS-CBN programs in the top 10 include “Imortal” (26.3%) in 5th place, followed by weekend top-raters ”Wansapanataym” (24.3%) and “Maalaala Mo Kaya” (23.4%).

Korina Sanchez’ “Rated K” (21.6%) topped all current affairs programs and placed eighth overall in the top 10 list, while “Goin Bulilit” (21.2%) placed 10th.

The Kapamilya network remains number one nationwide with the highest overall audience share of 36% over GMA’s audience share of 34% for the month of January.

ABS-CBN generated net income of P2.9 billion for the first nine months of 2010, as it sustained into the third quarter the strong growth momentum in regular advertising revenues in the first semester. This profit level is more than double the net income of P1.3 billion in the first nine months of 2009.

Kantar Media, a global market research group, offers audience research measurement systems in 32 countries. It started releasing its Philippine television audience measurement data in February 2009 with panels composed of 1,370 representative households covering urban Philippines and reporting on seven sectors namely the National Capital Region, North Luzon, Central Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court.
