Showtime and ASAP Rocks host Anne Curtis is on the cover of Cosmopolitan Philippines’ January 2011 issue.

The 25-year-old kapamilya actress is set to return on primetime television via the Philippine adaptation of the Korean action-romance series “Green Rose” opposite Jericho Rosales and Jake Cuenca.

Anne is also busy shooting her reunion movie with Luis Manzano titled “Who’s that Girl?” slated on a pre-Valentine playdate.

Aside from being the newest endorser of SMDC, she was also launched as Ginebra San Miguel 2011 Calendar Girl for 2011.

Cosmopolitan Philippines Magazine January 2011 issue is now available nationwide wherever magazines are sold.

Jake Cuenca on Green Rose

Hunk actor Jake Cuenca has belied rumors that he is resentful over his supporting role in an upcoming ABS-CBN prime time television series.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Cuenca said he is happy and contented that he is part of a Koreanovela remake, “Green Rose,” regardless of his role.

“They had to make some adjustments for the role because I accepted it. More than anything I did this role kasi the role itself, it’s meaty, it’s substantial. Para sa akin, mas magiging mature ako at mae-enhance ko pa ang craft ko. To me, I think this is the best step, the best way to go. At the same time, I’m working with Jericho [Rosales] and Anne [Curtis]. Wala na akong mahihiling pa,” he said.

Cuenca added that for him, having the lead or non-lead role is not important as long as he is enjoying his career.

“Panoorin ninyo na lang. Basta more than anything, this is something for my artistry, this is something for my craft,” he added.

When asked if there’s a competition between him and co-star Rosales, he replied: “Jericho is Jericho, Anne is Anne. I grew up watching Jericho's movies at siyempre sino bang lalaking walang crush kay Anne Curtis.”

“Green Rose” is set to premiere this 2011 along with other new Kapamilya shows.

Kapamilya Babe of 2010 No. 11: Denise Laurel

Kapamilya Babe of 2010 number 11 is Denise Laurel.

Denise Laurel was discovered by Star Magic's big boss Mr. M (Johnny Manahan) in a play of Repertory Philippines. Luckily, she was given a break to be part of "Ang TV 2", then she played Ina Raymundo's daughter in "Pangako Sa ‘Yo".

She then made a name in Singapore when she was fortunate to be part of MTV Asia’s "Rouge" which was shown all over Asia.

When she returned to the Philippines, she had a stint on GMA7 but after 2 years, she went back as Kapamilya where she was included in several shows like Maging Sino Ka Man, Sineserye Presents Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos? and Prinsesa ng Banyera. She became a VJ in Studio 23 in 2009 and stars in several Precious Heart Romances teleseryes including Bud Brothers, You're Mine Only Mine, Midnight Phantom and the still running Kristine where she refused to go daring.

Pinoy Big Brother Former Teen Housemate Patricia Mae "Tricia" Santos makes it as number 12 in the Kapamilya Babe of 2010.

Inside the Big Brother House, she was one of the misunderstood teen housemate. She is now seen in the teen oriented variety show Shout Out!

Kapamilya Babe of 2010 No. 13: Angelica Panganiban

Kapamilya Babe of 2010 number 13 is a homegrown talent of ABS-CBN, Angelica Panganiban.

Panganiban started her career at age 6 with her first show Ang TV on ABS-CBN. She appeared in numerous television dramas and appeared as a lead in the soap opera Mangarap Ka (2004) with Piolo Pascual at the age of 16. She appeared in the movie Santa Santita (2004) with Jericho Rosales, and starred in the 2005 drama series Vietnam Rose with Maricel Soriano.

In 2007, Angelica appeared in her first mature roles in the film A Love Story, with Aga Mulach and Maricel Sorianno, and in Maging Sino Ka Man Book 2 with Derek Ramsay. She also appeared in Ysabella as a guest character. She became a full fledged dramatic actress in the 2008 primetime drama series Iisa Pa Lamang.

In 2010, she was given the lead role of the Bida Kontrabida Rubi based on the 2004 hit Mexican telenovela. She was also in the movie I Love You, Goodbye with Derek Ramsay, Kim Chiu and Gabby Concepcion.

This year, she will have a teleserye with Gretchen Barretto.

Kapamilya Babe of 2010 No. 14: KC Concepcion

KC Concepcion has inherited both halves of her family legacy and keeps the flame burning bright with her talent and knack for powerful theatrics and acting.

The only daughter of actors ‘Gabby Concepcion’ and ‘Sharon Cuneta’, Kristina Cassandra Concepcion or simply known as K.C. to the entire Philippines has always been considered a showbiz royalty, even recognizing her as the nation’s “princess” given the fact the her parents were the most promising reel couple back in the 80s admired by millions of fans all throughout the country.

Fil-Australian Raelene Elaine Ebaler Villanía or better known as Iya Villania is the Kapamilya Babe of 2010 number 15.

In 2004, she transferred from GMA 7 to ABS-CBN, and accept a VJ job offered by its music channel subsidiary, MYX, and an acting role for another youth-oriented show, "Seasons of Love".

In 2005, she was chosen to co-host the daily noontime show, Wowowee, and the variety show, ASAP. In 2006, Villania began hosting a lifestyle show, Us Girls, for Studio 23and a reality-dance show, U Can Dance.

In 2007, she again hosted for the season 2 of U Can Dance and appeared in the fantaserye Lastikman. In 2009, she appeared in ABS-CBN's Korean telenovela remake, Only You with Angel Locsin, Sam Milby and Diether Ocampo. She is currently appearing on ABS-CBN's Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Kristine as Scarlet.

Bernadette Sembrano's Krusada on Teenage Pregnancy

With the rising rate of teenage pregnancy in the country, mothers are becoming even younger and younger these days. But what is even more alarming is that some pregnant young women consider or resort to abortion because of the lack of support from their families.

Broadcast journalist Bernadette Sembrano believes that it is important for parents to guide their pregnant child, and show them that they can still set right a wrongdoing, that there is still a better future for her and the child she is carrying.

Because of their youth, teenage mothers-to-be are more prone to stress, both physical and emotional, and driving them away because of their untimely pregnancy would only make things worse for them.

This Thursday (Jan 6) in “Krusada,” Sembrano will show the role of the family in solving the problem of teenage pregnancy, a dilemma that is usually caused by their experiences at home.

Kim Chiu Spends Christmas in Korea Alone

Young actress Kim Chiu happily spent her Christmas in Korea.

"Masaya naman. Pumunta ako sa may snow, sa Korea. Nag-ski ako, namasyal, nag-tour, nagpakasawa sa snow," the actress told “Showbiz News Ngayon.”

Chiu said it was her first time to visit Korea, and it was her childhood dream to have a white Christmas. "So ngayon, natupad na."

It was November of last year when Chiu shared her plan to spend Christmas alone following her reported break-up with rumored sweetheart and longtime on-screen partner, Gerald Anderson.

Chiu is now busy taping for her weekly television show "Kim 2." She is also set to do a TV series titled "Binondo Girl."

Meanwhile, actor Enchong Dee, who was once linked to Chiu, also shared his Christmas trip to Australia with his family.

"Pumunta kami ng Sydney two weeks sila, ako one week. Pagdating ko nagpunta kami ng Canberra, yong Parliament House, 'yong Opera House at Harbour Bridge. Lahat ng puwedeng puntahan mo sa Australia ay napuntahan namin,” Dee said.

"Sobrang sulit walang minuto na nasayang," he added.

Angel Locsin, Willing to Work Again With Robin Padilla

Angel Locsin was proud to say that she does her own stunts in Imortal, her current primetime teleserye with John Lloyd Cruz. She has done a lot of action-themed TV series which she considers an achievement because not many actresses are given projects under this genre. “Mahirap, hindi maiwasan na nagkakasakitan kami dito pero excited kasi ako [mahilig] sa mga stunts talaga, eh. ’Pag fight scenes ‘pag 5 a.m. gigising talaga ako. Gustong-gusto ko ‘yung mga ganon. Super nage-enjoy po ako sa mga actions. Nakakatuwa rin na nakikilala ka sa ganon kasi andaming magagaling na artista dito sa ABS-CBN,” she confessed.

“Gusto ko po talaga. Actually feeling ko talaga action queen ako pero sana po ma-recognize ng mga tao. Nasa tao naman po ‘yon pero naa-appreciate ako kapag napupuri ako sa mga stunts na ginagawa ko.”

But Angel said that her fight scenes in Imortal will not be possible without the help of the staff and crew. “With the help of our sound directors, directors, and John Lloyd, siyempre ‘yung mga kapwa artista ko hindi mo naman din magagawa ‘yung stunts mo kung hindi rin dahil sa kanila. Natututukan din lang talaga ako,” she justified.

One of the action-adventure teleseryes that Angel did before she transferred to ABS-CBN was Asian Treasures (2007) where she starred opposite Robin Padilla, who is now also a Kapamilya star. During that time, the two were romantically linked to each other, but the controversy was short-lived. “Wala naman. Dinedma naman ng tao. ‘Di yata masyadong kinagat. Tingin ko safe naman. Pero andami kong natutunan kay Kuya Binoe talaga. Hindi ako mamumulat ng ganito sa action kung hindi dahil sa kanya.”

Although they belong in the same TV network, Angel related that it has been a long time since she talked to Robin. However, she said that she is willing to work with the action superstar again if an opportunity comes along. “Ako I’m excited. ‘Pag may nakakatrabaho kang beteranong artista, marami kasing natututunan ‘di ba?” But she added that she does not see this happening soon because she is aware that Robin’s next teleserye will be with Bea Alonzo in the highly anticipated teleserye, Guns and Roses. “Excited po ako don, gusto kong makita kung anong bagong ipapakita,” Angel explained.
