Kris Aquino Reveals Real Score Between Her and Ted Failon

During a live interview in TV Patrol last December 7, Ted Failon was rendered speechless when Kris Aquino revealed that he’s the only guy whom she is constantly in communication with these days. The TV host-actress even invited him on air to be her date at the premiere night of her movie Dalaw on December 19. “Ted baka mahimatay ka kapag sinagot ko na ang madalas ko lang kausap ikaw. E ‘di ba Ted textmate naman tayo talaga? At ‘di ba may dinner tayo in two weeks? Ted na-speechless ka na. In-on the spot ka nila. Alam nilang ito ang mangyayari na ibubuking kita sa lahat.” Kris further put Ted on the spot when she joked that he might be the next brother-in-law of President Noynoy Aquino because of her. “Ano Ted payag ka? Huwag mo ako i-deny Ted ha!”

But during her solo press con for Dalaw that same night, Kris clarified that Ted is not really courting her at the moment. “No he didn’t ask me out. Hindi siya nanliligaw sa akin pero we’re really good friends. Kanina kasi nagulat ako na siya yung nagtake-over because I was called na it’s gonna be Korina Sanchez who’ll interview me. So pliney time ko si Ted na nung siya yung nandon. Dyinowk ko na, ‘Naku Ted ha, gusto mo talaga ako makatsika!’ Yun lang po yun.” Apparently, she just wanted to get back at him for disclosing to the public some of their private conversations about Noynoy’s rumored involvement with celebrity stylist Liz Uy and Ilongga stockbrocker Len Lopez.

“Kasi ganito yun, aamin ako. Yung mga kinoment niya last Monday (TV Patrol’s December 6 episode) when they were talking about Noy's love life, merong input si Ted dun, medyo napagkwentuhan namin yun. So I told him, ‘Maghanda ka, babawian kita.’ Sabi mo sa akin secret lang tapos tsinika mo [on air]. Sabi niya, ‘Hindi naman pangit mga sinabi ko ah?’ I think he was really shell-shocked [dun sa revelation ko about our closeness and pagbibiro ko sa kanya on air. I think it takes a lot to shock a Ted Failon. But I think a Kris Aquino was able to shock Ted Failon,” she cheerfully explained to the local press.

On a serious note though, Kris admitted that he and Ted have established a deep friendship because of their similar experience when it comes to losing a loved one. “Nag-reach out ako sa kanya nung time na we were transferring mom from La Salle Greenhills to Manila Cathedral. Kasi my mom has said before when his wife has passed away that his daughter was the same age as I was when my dad died. At sinabi ng mom, buhay pa ang mom nun, ‘Kris puntahan mo sila especially because you would know best what his daughter is going through.’ And I never got to do that because lumubha na ang condition ng mom nun.”

But since then they’ve had the chance to finally keep in touch with each other. “I remember there was a live interview (during her mom Cory Aquino’s funeral) and I told Ted on air na binilin ng mom yun sa akin. We have exchanged numbers then and before Christmas last year I had dinner with their family. In-invite niya ako with his sisters and children and I also brought my kids and we’ve maintained a friendship since that time. I think you become friends with people who have experienced loss. So kapag meron siyang tatanungin na diretsang tanong tungkol sa pamilya namin, he has a direct line, I answer and I say it’s off the record. Tapos minsan nagugulat ako sinasabi niya [on air]. Tapos sabi ko, ‘Naku, lagot nanaman ako.’ So he's a dear friend.”

Is it safe to say though that she likes Ted Failon? “Nakakaloka talaga (laughs)! Hindi ba dapat siya muna ang tanungin ni’yo kung ‘Type mo ba si Kris?’,” she finally stated.

Kris Aquino Talks About Friendship With James Yap on The Buzz Magazine

In an exclusive interview with The Buzz Magazine, Kris Aquino revealed that she and James Yap are now able to communicate without being bitter about their failed marriage. They have even talked about previous rumors linking James to actress Isabel Oli and how their every move is being closely watched by the local press. “After that issue sinabi ni James sa akin na, ‘Hay naku, ang hirap talaga. Maghe-hello ka lang sa isang tao maiintriga ka na.’ Tapos sabi ko, ‘You know, I really pray you have a girlfriend soon para we can all be happy and we can all move on.’”

Kris also shared with James her dream to have a church wedding someday. “Nabanggit niya over the phone nung nagpapaalam siya kung pwede bang dalawin si Bimby na yung team-mate niya kinasal daw dun sa church sa may Casino Resorts World. Sabi niya, ‘Ang ganda ng church dun.’ Sabi ko, ‘No, I’ll get married in Archbishop Palace, very private.’ I’ll invite you to my wedding just like Ogie (Alcasid) and Michelle (Van Eimerenn). We’ll be like that.’ Ganun talaga [ang pag-uusap namin], kaloka.”

Kris was also proud to say that she’s more physically fit than James at the moment. According to Kris, James has been gaining weight lately because of the meds that he’s taking after a nose operation. “Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘What happened to you? You’re so bloated.’ Sabi niya sa akin, ‘Ang feeling mo naman.’ Sabi ko, ‘Everybody tells me this is my prettiest. I have a glow of health and I exercise.’ Sabi niya, ‘Feeling mo may magkakalakas ng loob na sabihin sa ’yo ang laki ng hita mo?’ Sabi ko, ‘Hello! I’m fit. I exercise.’ Sabi naman niya, ‘O sige, hot ka na ngayon.’ Sagot ko naman, ‘Of course.’”

On a serious note though, Kris is grateful because they are more open in terms of dealing with the welfare of their son as well as the legal issues concerning their annulment. “Hindi, kasi parang nailabas ko na lahat ng hinanakit ko. Kaya okay na yung relationship namin, na nandun na sa lugar na wala ng bwisitan.”

Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion Join Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera in a Product Endorsement

Ayon kay Dingdong, "Sobrang masaya and excited, kasi I'm lined up with the country's most talented, well-loved artists."

"Ang saya at sobrang excited kami na for the first time, pinagsama kami nina KC at Piolo.

Una, in-endorse ko na may kasamang iba in the last 10 years of my being an endorser.

"Number two, unang-unang beses ko rin na mag-endorse ng beverage kasi palaging beauty products.

"So, it's like really a fresh start for me."

"We're both excited," sambit ng matinee idol. "We always wait for something to work together. So, when it came, we're happy."

ABS-CBN Best Journalists Joined Forces in Krusada

From ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs, comes a program with the courage to take a stand and fight for change in the country— “Krusada.”

This Thursday (Dec 9) after “Bandila,” “Krusada” will start acting on and responding to the biggest and most pressing issues in each sector of society, spearheaded by the best and veteran journalists of ABS-CBN such as Ted Failon, Ces Drilon, Henry Omaga-Diaz, Lynda Jumilla, Gus Abelgas, Dyan Castillejo, Karen Davila, Julius Babao, and Noli “Kabayan” De Castro.

“We don’t effect change with words alone. Sometimes, we have to take a stand. ABS-CBN journalists are ready to become true agents of change and it is through ‘Krusada’ that they can push for their own advocacies for the Filipino people,” said ABS-CBN Head for News and Current Affairs Ging Reyes.

This is why in the first airing of “Krusada,” Ces Drilon will tackle an issue that is especially close to her heart—the issue on reproductive health. Drilon visited Fabella Hospital, a hospital in Manila renowned for delivering babies. Here she met Aling Zeny who has given birth to her tenth child. Zeny said that she didn’t want another child after their last. However, they had no access to contraceptives.
Drilon also went to Baseco, Manila where she met Evelyn who was pregnant with her eighth child. The mother doubts as to whether they can still send their children to college. Meanwhile, another mother, Marissa is pregnant with her seventh child and plans to have her child adopted the moment she gives birth.

Their different narratives show the need for a more effective and comprehensive family planning program. A reproductive health program that will protect the women and the children is Drilon’s crusade for the country.

Advocacy journalism that gives a clear standpoint and concrete action—this is what “Krusada” is all about. Because true public service is propelled by action, not merely words.

Watch out for the airing of “Krusada” this Thursday night (Dec 9), after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN.

Zaijan Jaranilla on RPG Metanoia

Bago magtapos ang taong 2010, everything you thought you know about Philippine animation will change dahil ngayong pasko, Ambient Media, Star Cinema and Thaumatrope Animation are proud to present RPG:Metanoia, sa direksiyon ng veteran animator na si Louie Suarez.

Kris Aquino and James Yap Together in Dalaw

Kris Aquino revealed through her Twitter account that she had convinced her ex-husband, professional basketball player James Yap to make an appearance in her upcoming movie Dalaw. In the press conference of the said movie, a Star Cinema entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival, Kris explained that James will serve as a body double of her leading man Diether Ocampo, who can’t do the scene because he is in Australia for a concert tour. “Kailangan nang masara ‘yung eksena by tomorrow night. The deadline for submission of the movie is sa Monday. We needed somebody with a good physique. In all fairness naman sa akin konti lang ang friends kong lalaki na hunky.E ‘di my ex-husband na lang.Kaya maraming salamat sa kanya. What you will see in the movie is front ko, then ‘yung back side niya, left shoulder and arm.Malalaman ninyong, ‘Ay! ‘Yan si James Yap!’”

Kris talked about how she didn’t have a hard time convincing James to be a body double for Diether. “Diether is very fit.Nakausap ko si James na, ‘I need a favor.Alam ko na Wednesday may game ka, pwede ka bang mahiram sa gabi?’ Sabi niya, ‘Miss mo na ko, no?!’ Sabi ko naman, ‘Likod mo lang ang hihiramin!’ Ha ha ha! Kailangan kasi broad ang shoulders, left arm ang makikita so kailangan developed ‘yung arm. Tapos ‘yung likod kailangan lean, alam mo na nagwo-work out.”

Having been married, Kris figured James is just the right guy with whom she can comfortably do the slightly intimate scene in Dalaw. “Mahirap kasi kayakap ko siya dapat sa eksena. Sabi ko naman, ‘I’m sure naman na ayaw mong kung sino-sino lang ang kayakap ng ex-wife mo. So pumayag ka na na ikaw ang kayakap!’ Ishu-shoot namin sa Wednesday.Manonood si Bimby (their son) sa game niya. Tamang tama after that dadalhin niya si Bimby sa akin sa Bulacan (where the location is). So wala siyang kawala!”

Kris and James’s five year marriage had many ups and downs that made headlines, and until early this year, the actress-TV host announced that she is filing an annulment of her marriage to the basketball star. The annulment case is still being reviewed by the court and it had sent out a gag order preventing Kris and James from discussing the case with the media. But very far from the image of a squabbling ex-couple, Kris said she and James are very much in good terms now. “You go through stages sa hiwalayan. There’s anger, resentment, then peace for a while, and you read the papers, you read what he filed, you read what you filed, magagalit kayo all over again. Then aabot kayo sa point of acceptance na ‘Hey, we can be friends!’ I think nandun kami sa point na ‘yun. Siguro rin dahil lahat ng aspetong financial e naayos na so wala na kaming pinagaawayan. Two weeks ago nandun si James, sabi sa akin ni Bimby, ‘Mama, don’t fight na with my Papa. Friends na lang kayo.’ Ipinaramdam din naman ni James sa akin na handa siyang makipagkaibigan sa akin.”

But could this beautiful friendship be a sign that Kris and James can still get back together as a couple and be parents to their son? Kris doesn’t think so. “Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang pero ilang beses na rin niya akong tinanong na ‘Sigurado kang maghihiwalay na tayo? Kung gusto mo pwede pa nating ayusin.’ I really realized na since I’m much older we’re really better off leading separate lives.Kung meron mang pintig, e ‘di we will be together now.”

Willie Revillame's Camp Tries to Delay Court Proceedings Against Him

The camp of Willie Revillame has filed a new motion that might delay the court proceeding on the P127 million copyright infringement suit charged against them by ABS-CBN.

The counsels of defendants Revillame, Wil Productions, ABC 5 (also known as TV5), and ABC 5 President Ray Espinosa informed Branch 66 of the Makati Regional Trial Court yesterday (Dec 7) that they have filed a petition for certiorari or prohibition at the Court of Appeals, in the hope of preventing the trial court from continuing the hearing on ABS-CBN’s application for a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the TV5 program “Willing Willie.”

The defense lawyers cited the Makati RTC’s alleged grave abuse of discretion after presiding Judge Joselito Villarosa has repeatedly denied or deferred its rulings on the motions they submitted. They added that as "judicial courtesy," the Makati RTC should first wait for the decision of the Court of Appeals on the petition before moving forward with the TRO hearing.

Last week, the camp of Revillame submitted a variety of motions in order to bar ABS-CBN from presenting its evidence for its prayer for a TRO, including a motion to dismiss case, a ‘motion to inhibit’ against the presiding judge, a motion to defer the TRO hearing, and a motion to drop Espinosa as one of the defendants.

After hours of debate between both parties, Judge Villarosa, ruled last Thursday (Dec 2) to continue with the TRO hearing but vowed to decide first on the pending motions before deciding to grant or deny the TRO.

ABS-CBN has since presented witness ABS-CBN Business Unit Head for game shows Marilou Almaden, who used side by side audiovisual comparisons of “Willing Willie” and “Wowowee” to testify to the infringements committed by Revillame and company as stipulated in ABS-CBN’s complaint.

These include the opening song and/or dance number led by its host, the singing and/or trivia game wherein contestants share their personal stories and then showcase their talents before playing the game, and the set design, stage, studio viewers’ seats lay-out, lighting, music, and camera angles of “Willing Willie,” which are strikingly similar to “Wowowee.” ABS-CBN argues that the expression and execution of all these elements in a manner so similar to that of Wowowee creates a similar 'look and feel' between the programs, and is the basis of the claim of copyright infringement.

Atty. Bienvenido Somera Jr, who is representing ABS-CBN, said this new motion is obviously another attempt to delay the hearing, which has now stretched to two weeks. Somera said the Court has already given both parties ample opportunity to debate on the merits of the motions filed, making the claim of “grave abuse” by the Court unfounded.

Meanwhile, in order to resolve all pending issues on trial court level, Judge Villarosa has decided to cancel the scheduled Thursday and Friday hearings on the ABS-CBN TRO. The honorable judge said this is to give him time to finally decide on the motions filed by the defense by next week, so they won't be raising the same issues over and over again during court proceedings.

Piolo Pascual Denies Transferring to Another Network

Piolo Pascual denied recent claims that he was offered to transfer to another TV network and stressed that he is happy being a Kapamilya. “I signed up with Channel 2. I’m with (ABS-CBN). Unfair din naman to comment about that. I’m very much a Kapamilya. I’ve been a Kapamilya all my life,” the actor explained at the press conference of his recent endorsement, Real Leaf Green Tea, with KC Concepcion on December 6, Monday.

Piolo reasoned out that one reason some people suspect him of shifting networks is because many celebrities are changing loyalties nowadays. “Maraming taong naglilipat ng network wala namang makakaiwas d’yan, eh. I remember before my soap (Noah) came out, a couple of months ago may ganun na ring talks na susundan ko raw si Clau (Claudine Barretto). May offer ako sa kabila but you know, just the same, wala namang nangyayari.”

The actor also denied claims that he was seen within the premises of TV 5 with friend Direk Joyce Bernal. He stressed that there never was an offer from the said television station and that he is content with his current home network and with the success of his teleserye.

Piolo explained also that he is pretty excited to start shooting his next film project with Kim Chiu as his leading lady. He shared that the team had a brainstorming already and are hoping that they will start filming this January.

The actor was also beaming at his latest beverage endorsement because this is his reunion with rumored girlfriend KC after their last TV project, Lovers In Paris. He and KC considers this endorsement a blessing because this is their first endorsement together. Aside from them, real life couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, were also chosen as endorsers and were present at the event.

Kapamilya Stars and Shows Won Anak TV Seal Awards

ABS-CBN Kapamilya stars and shows once again dominated the recently concluded 2010 Anak TV Seal Awards.

Present to personally accept their Makabata Stars were ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio, TV Patrol’s Ted Failon, Korina Sanchez, Bernadette Sembrano and Kim Atienza, Bandila’s Karen Davila and Julius Babao, along with his wife Christine Bersola-Babao.

Also there were actors Luis Manzano, Coco Martin, Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis and Toni Gonzaga.

News and Current Affairs shows Umagang Kay Ganda, TV Patrol World and Matanglawin, meanwhile, bagged the Top TV Program Household Favorites this year.

Also recognized for the same category were entertainment shows Agua Bendita, ASAP, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, Maalaala Mo Kaya, Magkaribal, May Bukas Pa, Noah, Pilipinas Got Talent, Rated K, Showtime and Sineskwela.

Actress Gretchen Barretto was the one who received the award for Magkaribal. Barretto related to ABS-CBN News that this recognition is an early Christmas gift not just for her but for the whole cast.

“Punong puno ng pasasalamat on belalf of our cast, ‘yong pagiging No.1 namin ‘yong appreciation sa amin, isang malaking Christmas gift,” said Barretto.

She also shared that aside from the Anak TV Seal and the Star Awards, the now defunct television series is set to receive more recognitions, something which her partner Tony Boy Cojuangco was happy about.

“Dapat 7 lang na simbahan pupuntahan ko, pero I went to 9 churches and everyday nagsisimba ako! Sabi sa akin ni Tony noong nakakuha ako ng award, ‘Good girl.’ Sabi ko, ‘Thank you,’” she blissfully said.

Martin also expressed his pleasure over the recognition. “Nakaka-proud kasi second time na ako nabigyan ng award ng Anak TV Seal at nakakatuwa nakakabigay ako ng inspirasyon sa kabataan.”

Manzano, on the other hand, could not believe that he was chosen to be among the personalities awarded. “It's overwhelming kasi it's my first time and hopefully not the last. This is very special because boto ng kabataan ito.”

Meanwhile, Manzano’s mom, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos, immediately sent her congratulatory message to her son.

The Anak TV Seal is given every year by the Southeast Asian Foundation for Children and Television. The Anak TV Seal is conferred to kid-friendly TV programs and personalities who are considered to be good influence on children.
