Laugh Out Loud Premieres This Saturday!

Weekend primetime television viewing welcomes a new laugh trip that will surely get you ROFL (rolling on the floor laughing) and make you LOL (laugh out loud)!

ABS-CBN premieres its newest TV comedy reality show “Laugh Out Loud,” to be hosted by witty host-actor Luis Manzano, this Saturday (Dec 4) and will bring Pinoys funny videos of real-life reactions of real people caught up in unusual practical joke situations be it at work, at school, on the streets, and everywhere else.

“What makes LOL different is that pranks are well-thought-of. We assure you that we will bring 99.9% of laughter right on your television screens,” said Luis.

Joining Luis as co-host is the Queen of Cosplay turned TV host Alodia Gosiengfiao, who will embark on her first ever Kapamilya project.

“I feel very honored to be part of this show! I’ve never really done a show with ABS-CBN and I feel very nervous, to be honest, because people might have very high expectations. I’m working with pros and veterans in the field. So yes, as a newbie, I really hope to learn a lot and improve from working with the team!” she said.

Viewers must watch out for the wacky pranks the show prepares each week, which will also be watched by a laugh team composed of celebrity groups or barkadas who will laugh with together with you while you’re watching at your homes.

The team will pick its top three reactions from the videos, which will be subject to text votes via “Laugh Out Loud” text promo. The reaction with the most number of votes will win P10,000.

Don’t miss the premiere of the newest comedy reality show “Laugh Out Loud” this Saturday (Dec 4), 9:45 PM after “MMK” on ABS-CBN.

Kristine's First Book Soon to End!

As the first book of “Martha Cecilia’s Kristine” comes to an end, a new dawn is set to unfold in Paso De Blas.

In the past week, we have witnessed Jewel come out of her shell and begin to move on her life after a heart break. This week, Lance (Rayver Cruz) will play a big role in an explosive revelation that would change the flow of the story altogether.

Jewel of Romance Cristine said viewers of “Kristine” should be on their toes as unexpected changes are bound to take place in the much-anticipated book 2 of the hit teleserye. She revealed that three new characters will be introduced in the program that will add more reasons for viewers to stay up every night.

“Sobrang excited na ako sa mga bagong characters na papasok. Abangan din nila yung bagong Jewel na mapapanood nila sa Book 2 kasi ibang-iba siya sa Jewel na napanood nila so far,” Cristine said.

Rayver added that the new “Kristine” will be more gripping and compelling than ever. “Kung astig ang mga book 1, mas astig itong book 2.”

Rayver and Cristine are currently hot topics in gossip shows and publications, especially after the actress admitted they were in a relationship before. Rumor has it that the two have started dating each other again.

Aside from incidents where the two were caught being sweet to each other on set or in public, both have also admitted that they become close again.

“Oo, mas nakakapag-usap na kami ni Rayver ngayon compared dati na nag-uumpisa ang Kristine na hindi kami nag-uusap. Lumabas kami. Off-work bonding lang,” explained Cristine.

Rayver said there is nothing wrong with this as he is friends with the actress. “Lumalabas kami with common friends kaya hindi ko naman ide-deny ‘yun,” he answered.

But even though she is always around Rayver, Cristine admitted that she still finds her original leading man in the program Zanjoe Marudo hotter. But if you ask her, their love triangle in real life pales in comparison to their love story in “Kristine.”

“Something very exciting is about to happen to Jewel, Bernard and Lance,” she said.

Watch out as the first book of the epic TV adaptation of the country’s best-selling pocketbook series nears its end. Be there as the whole country welcomes the new characters who would eventually join Cristine Reyes, Zanjoe Marudo, Rafael Rosell, and Rayver Cruz in bringing life to your nights through “Martha Cecilia’s Kristine,” from Monday to Friday, after “Imortal” on ABS-CBN.

Sid Lucero Unsuccessful at the International Emmy's

The Philippine nominees at the 38th International Emmy Awards were unsuccessful in their bid to bring home the prizes during the gala event at Hilton New York Hotel Monday night (US time).

Actor Sid Lucero failed to grab the Best Actor award for his performance as Red Ramirez, the antagonist in ABS-CBN television series "Dahil May Isang Ikaw."

The Filipino actor lost to veteran actor Bob Hoskins (The Street, United Kingdom).

"Dahil May Isang Ikaw," which was nominated under the Best Telenovela category, was also unsuccessful. Portugal’s “My Love” was adjudged best telenovela.

He didn’t win a golden statue, but the Filipino best actor nominee was ecstatic to be given a chance to become part of the prestigious event.

Lucero, for one, enjoyed his first red carpet experience in New York where paparazzi scrambled to take his picture. As his date, he brought along his cousin.

“The best part of it is being here, that's the best part. I wasn't expecting anything, not at all… I had my own bets, I thought my bet was going to win but apparently my favorite actor did,” he said as he extended his congratulations to Hoskins.

He added: “This is basically for me a dream sequence, and then when I get back home, it's back to reality, back to work, back to normal life.”

Lucero also shared that he got star-struck when he saw Simon Cowell.

Cowell, judge of highest rated TV show “American Idol,” was given a special award. He received the International Emmy’s Founder Award.

“When I look back on the clip, think back on the 10 years, I can genuinely say I've had the best time I've ever had in my life. Whoever said fame, money, success, will destroy you… Completely wrong!" Cowell said.

Before the awards night, Lucero said he was excited to represent the Philippines and his countrymen.

As a young actor, Lucero even shared his excitement to see international and great actors like Hoskins.

“I just wanna shake his [Bob Hoskins] hands and Helena Bonham Carter. Oh my God. Okay na ako doon. Hi, hello, bye,” Lucero said joyfully.

Lucero said it was an honor for him to be the first Filipino actor to be nominated in the best actor category.

This is not the first time that his talent has been recognized by an international award giving body. Thessaloniki Filmfest in Greece first noticed his acting skills and awarded him as the Best Actor for the indie film “Selda.” He also won the same award in Gawad Urian for the same role.

Born with a blood with passion in acting, Lucero originated from a family who is already an institution in the entertainment industry.

In 2009, there were 3 nominees from the Philippines, namely Angel Locsin, ABS-CBN's "Kahit Isang Saglit" and GMA 7’s “Magdusa Ka.” None won any major award.

Sharon Cuneta on KC Concepcion's New Management

Megastar Sharon Cuneta is happy about her daughter KC Concepcion's transfer to a new talent management, Star Magic, but she does not have anything bad to say about KC's ex-manager, Sandra Chavez. "Kilala ko si Sandra, kilala ko rin si Tita Mariole ng Star Magic. Lahat naman sila matino. Lahat naman sila nagbi-build up ng matino. Siguro lang it is a very personal relationship between the artist and the manager so I guess kailangan talaga magkasundo sa anggulo hindi lang sa propesyonal."

Star Magic has her 100% trust and she knows that the Star Magic bosses, Johnny Manahan and Mariole Alberto, take care of their talents like their own sons and daughters. "I am very close to Mr. M (Johnny Manahan) and Tita Mariole Alberto, para ko nang tatay si Mr. M. Hindi naman makukwestiyon ang mga artistang napasikat nila so ako lang sabi ko please take care of her pero I am not the type naman na makikialam. I am happy na magulang ko din yung makakatulong sa akin na maging magulang sa anak ko sa professional side so ako I am very comfortable. She's in good hands."

With this transfer, there are several negative issues that were thrown against KC and as her mother, Sharon reveals that she is ready to stand up and fight for KC when her detractors cross the line.

Meanwhile, Sharon is excited for KC's upcoming movie with Sam Milby. She admits that she likes Sam and she knows him well as he has been KC's good friend ever since. "That's nice because I love Sam. They're very good friends. Yung grupo na iyan parang mga anak ko. Magmula kina Erik Santos, Sam, Piolo Pascual, Christian Bautista —they're all close, maganda silang kabarkada. They are all good kids so I am happy kapag nakakasama niya mga kaibigan niya. Ipinagluluto ko nga sila, e. I am very happy. I hope to see Sam more often kasi busy man sila, magkasama pa rin sila. Makakadalaw ako sa set ng walang pag-aatubili."

Did Sharon Cuneta Also Snubs Lea Salonga?

Like Aga Muhlach, did Lea Salonga also get a cold shoulder from Megastar Sharon Cuneta?
The incident allegedly happened at the Araneta Coliseum on Friday during Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai de las Alas’s “Akin ang Tronong ‘To” concert. Cuneta and Salonga were de las Alas’s special guests, while Muhlach watched the show with wife Charlene Gonzales.

Rumor has it that Cuneta ignored Salonga backstage.

In her official Twitter account, however, Salonga was quick in refuting the rumor. According to her, it is not true that the megastar snubbed her.

“@Dinidiwara Okay, now that's not true. Sharon at no point snubbed me during the Ai Ai concert,” Salonga said, replying to an inquiry from follower Dinidiwara.

Another Twitter user, am_abbie, asked the international star if she has any idea where the rumors were coming from. To which, Salonga replied: “@am_abbie Honestly, no idea. But eh, rumors will be rumors, and in this business, they will abound.”

Columnist Ricky Lo of The Philippine Star reported Cuneta’s admission of harboring ill feelings toward Muhlach, which explained the reported snubbing incident during delas Alas’s show.

According to the report, Cuneta ignored Muhlach after learning that the actor agreed to make a movie with Salonga, but begged off when offered to do their reunion film.

More than that, said Cuneta, she felt Muhlach has purportedly been taking her for granted, and “wouldn’t even say if he (Muhlach) wanted to still do the movie or not.”

Muhlach also declined when asked to give a taped message to the megastar as she bid goodbye to her "Sharon" show, the report said.

Cuneta also lamented that the actor and his wife didn't even bother to watch her concert held at the Big Dome in August.

Meanwhile, when asked to comment on the purported snubbing incident, Salonga kept her distance from the issue.

“@Dinidiwara I was getting out of my gown and into jeans when it happened so I can't really comment,” Salonga tweeted

Sharon Cuneta Explained Her Side Regarding Aga Muhlach

What has Sharon got against Aga M?

That was the banner of yesterday’s Funfare story about how Sharon Cuneta “snubbed” Aga Muhlach by not acknowledging his presence, saying only “Sino ‘yon?”, when Ai-Ai delas Alas reminded Sharon from onstage that Aga and his wife Charlene Gonzalez were among those in the audience during Ai-Ai’s Akin ang Tronong ‘To concert at the Big Dome last Friday night.

Most of those in the audience were clueless if Sharon indeed has something, anything, against Aga for giving him that kind of treatment in an otherwise fun concert. Is there some kind of a “cold war” between the two who were last seen together in Star Cinema’s Kung Ako Na Lang Sana a few years ago, their first team-up? Was Sharon getting back at Aga whom she must have suspected of having “rejected” her for a reteam-up movie?

Sharon called up Funfare yesterday to clarify things and in the process make a clean breast of everything.

Yes, Sharon admitted, she does have a little “sama ng loob” (or “tampong kaibigan”) against Aga and it’s because of more than just the abortive movie project that just might land on the lap of Lea Salonga as her and Aga’s second team-up after Sana Maulit Muli.

“I felt that Aga has been taking me for granted,” said Sharon on the brink of tears. “He wouldn’t even say if he wanted to still do the movie or not, he kept only on saying, ‘Okay, okay!’ Look, at Star Cinema the only two leading men left na bagay sa akin are Aga and Gabby (Concepcion) dahil si Richard (Gomez) ay nasa ibang company na. If my weight is the problem, at pareho naman kami ni Aga na mataba, I could work double time to lose weight especially since love story siguro ang gagawin namin. Yung movie namin ni Gabby is horror, not a love story, so Malou (Santos, Star Cinema supervising producer) told me na okey lang na mataba ako. Pero if I would do a movie with Aga, magpapapayat talaga ako dahil alangan naman na mukha kaming mag-ina. Maybe Aga wanted mga bagets na leading lady at ayaw niya lang sabihin sa akin. Why can’t he tell me straight kung ayaw niya, di ba?”

Of course, Sharon said that she felt bad when she learned that Aga has agreed to do a movie with Lea (who was also among Ai-Ai’s guest performers together with Christopher de Leon and Regine Velasquez).

“To make a long story short,” Sharon added, “matagal na akong na-i-insulto. I kept things to myself. Ang pangit namang sabihin na niri-reject n’ya ako? Hindi naman ako isang starlet, di ba? We’re supposed to be friends. Bakit hindi niya sabihin sa akin?”

There are other reasons.

Sharon said that when her eponymous ABS-CBN show was closing, her staff invited Aga (“Since he’s one of my friends in the business – ilan lang naman silang talagang close sa akin”) to be among those who would say something on videotape as a form of bidding the show farewell. “He declined,” said Sharon. “That would have meant so much to me dahil masakit ‘yung mawawala ang show mo, di ba?”

And that Friday night, Sharon said it hurt her even more that Aga (“Kasama pa si Charlene”) would take time out to be at the Big Dome when he totally ignored Sharon’s concert last August in the same venue. “So I really felt bad,” explained Sharon. “Feeling ko, ‘Wow, nakaka-inggit naman si Ai-Ai dahil present silang dalawa ni Charlene.’ Ang dami kong pinagdadaanan noon and the presence of my friends in the audience would have made me feel better. When I called to invite him, he didn’t commit himself; all he said was, ‘Basta galingan mo.’ I said, ‘Pero pupunta kayo.’ He repeated, ‘Basta, galingan mo’.”

So when she snubbed Aga that night, Sharon said that she meant it as a joke although the audience mistook it for something serious.

“Joke talaga ‘yon between him sana and me. Wala naman akong balak tirahin siya. Isip ko, nagkakaintindihan kaming dalawa. In fact, nagbiruan pa nga kami ni Ai-Ai after that.”

About Kung Ako Na Lang Sana, theme song of her and Aga’s Star Cinema movie of the same title.

“It was Malou who requested for that song. But Homer (Flores, the musical director) and the guitarist didn’t have the arrangement so I sang another song.”

Doesn’t Sharon think that she owes maybe not Aga but the audience an apology for a joke that was misunderstood and therefore taken seriously?

“I’m really sorry for that.”

After all is said and done, does she still consider Aga a friend?

“Oo naman,” said Sharon. “First thing this morning, I texted him a message when I realized that I must have hurt him.”

Robin Padilla Turns 41!

Movie star Robin Padilla is celebrating his 41st birthday today.

Born Robinhood Fernando Padilla, the matinee idol is the youngest brother of actors Rommel, Royet and Rustom Padilla, who changed his name to BB Gandanghari after admitting that he is gay.

The “Badboy of Philippine action movies” was declared a box-office king after his films, "Anak ni Baby Ama," "Grease Gun Gang" and "Bad Boy 2," became big hits.

Padilla's head-turning physique and talent and his signature “simpatiko” appeal have captured the hearts of many Filipino women, including actresses Sharon Cuneta, Vina Morales, Kris Aquino, and Ruffa Gutierrez.

Padilla suffered a major blow after he was convicted of illegal possession of firearms and sentenced to 17-21 years of imprisonment in 1996. While serving his sentence, he converted to Islam and married Liezl Sicangco in a Muslim ceremony.

Padilla has four children with Liezl namely Queenie, Kylie, Zhen-zhen, and Ali.

After two years of imprisonment, then President Fidel Ramos pardoned Padilla.

He then made a comeback in show business. The 41-year-old actor starred in TV shows, "Kamao: Matira Matibay," "Basta't Kasama Kita" and "Puwedeng-Puwede."

Padilla's hosting skills was also discovered after subbing for Willie Revillame in the defunct noon time show, "Wowowee," where he met TV host-actress Mariel Rodriguez.

Padilla dated Rodriguez for a few months before their most controversial secret wedding in Taj Mahal in India.

Alwyn Uytingco on Ang Tanging Ina 3

May revelation do'n kaya lalabas si Momay [Xyriel Manabat].

Siyempre, we're still hoping," saad niya.

What's Next for Iya Villania?

Empress Schuck on Shout Out!

After the success of Rosalka, Empress is again busy, this time preparing for the upcoming teen variety show Shout Out! The show will also feature an ensemble cast which includes her Star Magic contemporaries Enchong Dee, Erich Gonzales, and Arron Villaflor, as well as a batch of young, new stars.

The young actress admitted she is looking forward to doing comedy for a change, after playing the role of a hunchback in Rosalka. Empress said being part of Shout Out! will let her showcase a wider range of talents. “Masaya ako na parang hindi lang pala acting ang puwede kong gawin and tapos binigyan pa ako ng chance ng management ng hosting projects so happy ako na hindi lang pala ako hanggang acting or drama lang,” she adds.

Having been acting for over a decade already, Empress is already considered one of the senior members of the Shout Out! cast, but she says she looks forward to being able to mentor the junior members. “Siyempre tutulungan ko sila sa mga basics, yung nung nag-start ako na hindi ko pa alam na kailangan sa mga ganitong klaseng show, yung kailangang maging energetic ka, hindi puwede yung tahimik, ayun so madali na lang sigurong gawin yun,” she said. Empress said she thinks being approachable and friendly to the newer talents will help the show become better. “Madali lang naman yun kasi ‘pag kaming mga main hosts or yung tinatawag nilang senior, kami maki-ki-bond sa kanila or kung papansinin namin talaga sila at magiging friends kami sa isa’t isa, magiging mas madali yung work eh. I’m sure na mawawala kagad yung pagiging mahiyain nila. Siguro maniniwala ako na manggagaling din sa amin yung confidence nila nanggaling din sa amin para lagi pang mag-grow at ilabas yung confidence nila,” she explained.

Empress is also excited about the format of their new show, which caters not just to teens, but viewers of all ages. “Marami silang aabangan dito kasi lahat kami mabibigyan ng mga kanya-kanyang productions. Ako nga hindi ako kumakanta pero mapapakanta ako. Singing, dancing, and may mga games. May mga VTR din kami sa labas. May mga iinterviewhin din kaming mga tao. Siguro kapag nag-sa-start pa lang yung show, bagong bago ang mga makikita nila dito,” she said.
