Christian Vasquez on Primetime Bida Bit Roles

The real Primetime King on ABS-CBN is not John Lloyd Cruz nor Piolo Pascual.

But it's Christian Vasquez, who is seen as Paul on "Magkaribal".

Why is Christian the real King of Primetime? It's because...out of the 6 primetime TV series currently airing on ABS-CBN, he is or was part of the 4 out of those 6 shows.

He played Romano Fortalejo on Martha Cecilia's Kristine, was Badong in Imortal, starred as Roland Reyes in Kokey@Ako and now, he's also part of Magkaribal.

Maybe, ABS-CBN should also have him in the cast of Noah and iDOL to make him officially the Primetime King.

No other actors were able to be part of 4 primetime TV series, which are all existing or still airing.

For 2010, Christian appeared all in all in 6 Kapamilya teleseryes. The other 2 were Dahil May Isang Ikaw (which ended in January of this year) and Habang May Buhay.

Christian's short role in Imortal also made him as the only cast member, other than Angel Locsin, who was also part of its prequel "Lobo". In Lobo, he was the young Gen. Leon (Dante Rivero) and in Imortal, he was seen as one of the vampires.

Star Power Top 20 Contestants

Twenty contestants have been chosen to form part of "Star Power 20" finalists, as revealed on the last episode of ABS-CBN's Star Power: Sharon's Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar.

From the original plan of having Star Power 12 finalists, they have decided to raise it up to 20 due to so many great singers with lots of star potential from the 37 regional finalists.

Twelve of the Star Power 20 are from Luzon, three from the Visayas and five from Mindanao. And they are:

K-la Iovan, a knockout beauty, is Fil-Canadian. She's living in Cubao but originally from Calgary, Canada. TV host Willie Revillame for sure knows her very well coz they already sang together on Wowowee in November 2009. Kayla was at the audience when Willie noticed her and asked her to sing.

Angeline Quinto was a grand finalist of Star For A Night, the singing contest which had Sarah Geronimo as the grand winner. She also joined MTB's Teen Pop Star and on GMA 7's Diz Iz It.

Laurice Bermillo was a grand finalist in the Big Division of Little Big Star Season 2. She and Jovit Baldivino reportedly "crush" each other.

Matt Evans on Juanita Banana

Matt Evans is turning 22 on Friday, October 22, which also happens to be the finale day of his teleserye "Rosalka".

But that doesn't mean it's over for Matt after "Rosalka" ends as he has a new show coming up, and it's "Juanita Banana" which launches Bianca Manalo as a new teleserye star.

Matt will be Bianca's leading man in the new series which also stars Rodjun Cruz, Bekimon, Lito Pimentel, Isay Alvarez, Dulce, Aaron Junatas, Katrina Legaspi and a lot more.

Edward Mendez on Magkaribal

Now 28 years old, Edward Mendez or Eddie Mendez is back on TV after being gone for 6 long years.

On ABS-CBN's Magkaribal, Edward made his comeback appearance in the hit fahion-serye as Mark Laurel, business partner of Gelai played by Bea Alonzo.

Not new in showbiz, this American-raised Filipino hunk was last seen on TV in 2004 as Iza Calzado's love team partner on GMA 7's Love2Love: Sweet Exchange, which also starred Dingdong Dantes and Karylle.

Prior to that, Edward was a finalist in MTV VJ Search 2003 and among the Cosmo Centerfolds the same year. It was also during that year when he starred in Star Cinema's "Pinay Pie" topbilled by Ai-Ai delas Alas.

He also appeared in a shampoo commercial back then with Donita Rose.

Edward is also set to launch his own book entitled "Your Dream Body Come True" where he teaches the readers how to attain a dream body based on his personal experiences and findings.

In his book he said that a person with a good outer-shell appearance would have more chances of maintaining his/her spot in the unforgiving game of "showbiz".

And now he's back on the showbiz scence, probably having more confidence with better appearance and hopefully stayin' for good.

The Correspondents Airs Its Final Episode Tonight

The award-winning documentary program of ABS-CBN says goodbye after 12 years.

In its 12 years on air, ABS-CBN’s premier news documentary program “The Correspondents” has featured the most significant events in the country’s history as well as life-changing human interest stories on the plight of ordinary Filipinos.

This Tuesday (Oct 19), let us revisit the stories of 12 individuals who have become part of the 12 colorful and brilliant years of “The Correspondents.”

Sarah Geronimo is Aliw Awards 2010 Entertainer of the Year

Sarah Geronimo nabbed the most coveted Entertainer of the Year citation at the Aliw Awards 2010 held Oct.18 at the Manila Hotel.

In her acceptance speech, Sarah paid tribute to her idol, the late Michael Jackson. “Gusto kong maging katulad ni Michael Jackson,” said she, who also won the Best Major Concert (Female) plum. “Paglaki ko magiging katulad ako ni Michael Jackson.”

Prior to accepting her awards, the singer-actress performed a medley of love songs composed by Louie Ocampo.
