The New Hosts of Pilipinas Win na Win
Starting Monday, October 4, Marco Sison, Rico J. Puno, Rey Valera and Nonoy Zuñiga, popular singers individually and collectively known as the Hitmakers, will take over Kris Aquino's hosting gig on ABS-CBN's noontime TV show “Pilipinas Win na Win”.In an interview, Sison said the group had just returned from a successful series of shows abroad, most of them in US cities such as Reno, Houston, and Las Vegas, when things started to shape up.
“Freddie (Garcia, former president of ABS-CBN) called Rico at the airport about the offer. Kaya nabigla kaming lahat. Pero excited kami,” admitted Sison.
According to him, he has been dreaming of hosting a TV show even before the ABS-CBN offer came along. Kasi, alam ko, I can deliver.
“I am thankful to ABS-CBN for giving me a chance to host a TV show.
It's in the performance
Why were the Hitmakers chosen to host "Pilipinas Win na Win"?
“I think no’ng nag-guest kami sa isang show, sa ‘Music Update’ ni Yeng Constantino, sama-sama kami no’n. Baka do’n nila nakita ang potential,” he said, although he doesn’t discount the fact that the Hitmakers have been going around the world for some time now to entertain audiences.
Sison said.
The group is being hounded by criticisms, though.
As long as we can deliver the goods, di ba?
Nasa performance ‘yan. Tingnan na lang natin,” he said
Magkaribal Will End This October
Actress-host Angel Aquino confirmed that ABS-CBN's hit television series "Magkaribal" will end soon.In an exclusive interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Aquino said it's good to end their show while it's hot. She said that the conclusion of their hit show will happen this October.
You know it's always nice to end on a high note," the actress said.
Data from Kantar Media/TNS showed that "Magkaribal" won over GMA-7's "Ilumina" (18.6%) with 20.5% viewership last Monday (September 27).
Aquino, who's playing the antagonist on the show, refused to confirm reports saying that there will be a season 2 for "Magkaribal."
"Malay natin. Hindi ko alam 'yan. I think kailangan pang i-prove na magwo-work talaga ang season 2.
Pero kung talagang magkakaroon ng clamor for the continuation ng 'Magkaribal' or revival of 'Magkaribal', bakit hindi?" she said.
Aquino has been receiving good reviews for her superb acting on the show. She admitted that she will forever treasure her character, Vera Cruz. She also said that she will miss all the stars in "Magkaribal."
"Hindi ko talaga makakalimutan. Una, I was part of a wonderful cast. Wala kaming araw na trabaho lang. Masaya bawat araw na nagta-trabaho kami sa 'Magkaribal', kahit napupuyat kami, alam mo 'yon? Sulit lahat ng pagod kasi sulit ang ratings at sulit ang resulta," she said.
Aquino also had nice things to say about her co-stars.
"Si Ms. Gretchen, she's so generous and gracious. Para sa akin everything about it was perfect. It was a great break for me talaga," Aquino said.
Before the interview ended, Aquino, also one of the hosts of "Us Girls" on Studio 23, invited viewers to continue watching "Magkaribal" as it nears its finale.
"Magkaribal", which started airing last June, is the story of two women in the fashion world who eventually discover that they are sisters. It is a series about love, fashion and family. It stars Bea Alonzo and Gretchen Barretto in the lead roles.
The show is directed by Nuel C. Naval and Mae Czarina Cruz.

On Spotlight: Bianca Manalo
Bianca Manalo said that she was proud when fellow beauty queen Maria Venus Raj finished fourth runner-up in the Miss Universe 2010 pageant last August. Though she failed to be a finalist in the Miss Universe Pageant last year, Bianca said that she has no hard feelings about it. “Kasi feeling ko, I had my year and this time it’s my year so wala akong regret,” explained the beauty queen who entered showbiz this year. “Kung hindi man ako nag-succeed sa field, heto na ako ngayon eh, bakit ko pa ‘yun iisipin, ba’t pa ako maglu-look back? Hindi na.”Currently part of the teleserye Magkaribal and the Sunday afternoon show Your Song Presents: Beautiful Girl, Bianca feels blessed with all the projects coming her way. Viewers and critics have been complimenting Bianca for the said role, which Bianca said is very much like who she is in real life. The beauty-queen-turned-actress said that another acting project is underway.
The aspiring actress also had a successful stint as a guest judge on Showtime some months ago, earning the admiration of resident judge Vice Ganda for being a trooper. The 23-year-old actress did a funny dance and did cartwheels, unlikely of beauty queens.
Bianca explained that she is not bothered that some people do not appreciate all the things that she does. “At least may recall, hindi ako ‘yung typical beauty queen na prim and proper, very stiff.

RR Enriquez on Studio 23's Pabida Ka!
Former Wowowee co-host RR Enriquez returns to TV via a new show on Studio 23 entitled Pa-bida Ka with Aaron Atayde. At the press launch of Studio 23’s new programs, RR was asked by reporters about her feelings that she was excluded from Pilipinas Win na Win, the show that replaced Wowowee last July. RR said that her friendship with former Wowowee co-hosts Mariel Rodriguez, Pokwang, and Valerie Concepcion (who all joined Win na Win) was not affected by what happened.“Hindi naman naapektuhan ‘yung friendship.
She was also asked for her reaction to the rumors claiming that Mariel had said some nasty things which offended her close friends like Toni Gonzaga, Luis Manzano, KC Concepcion, and Anne Curtis. I like her.”
RR added that as a close friend she knows Mariel better. RR believes it was never Mariel’s intention to deliberately hurt anyone. Masaya siyang kasama, masarap kaibigan.”
RR further cleared up the rumor claiming that one time on Wowowee, she and Mariel critiqued Valerie’s outfit and the latter was offended. “Walang problemang naganap. Ano ba nangyari? He he he! Wala akong tinaraydor.”
As for Mariel’s whirlwind romance with Robin Padilla, RR expressed her happiness for a dear friend.
She also said that she understands if Mariel and Robin’s decision to get married was very sudden.
RR revealed she already knew that Mariel left Win na Win to follow Robin in India, but she had no clue that the two would get married there. “Before I left, may alam na ako kasi nagkaka-BBM kami ni Mariel. Lagi naming tinetext, ‘We made the right choice dahil sa love.’ After na lang siya nagtext na she made the right decision nga.”

I ride the bus. I shop. It was my first time. So many people. The bus was very fast. Even faster than a taxi! It was also cool because the driver was going very fast so the air is very cold. I didn’t know it can be cold in Manila. I like very much!” he says. The natural comedian, who is also seen on daily on Showtime and Banana Split is very excited about all the adventures in store for him in the show. “I’ll do comedy. I’ll go anywhere kasi hindi ako alam ‘di ba? I go around, ride the bus, tricycle, like Philippine style. I’ll go eat with them, play something, just like natural. I’ll talk to people like friends. I really like it. Just be natural. I hope people will be happy. 30w Pohwz is like a comedy show, I’ll go around, have fun. I like comedy,” he said. A cooking challenge on the show even has the former teen housemate cooking adobo and bopis. “I love how Filipinos cook. I cook, so that’s why hindi masarap (laughs). Pero okay lang. This is a very big experience, that’s why I like,” he said.
