Angel Aquino graced the Star Magic Ball embodying her role Vera on Magkaribal. Her portrayal of kontrabida Vera Cruz is one reason why viewers enjoy watching Magkaribal. Having been in the industry for many years, Angel has learned how to draw the right emotions to effectively play roles given to her. "I did a lot of movies, you've seen a lot of these personalities so you just try to imagine and see yourself in their shoes," she related. As for how she plays Vera, Angel answered, "Wala lang, I just really try to draw it from within. I draw my energy from people around me so ganun lang."
This is not Angel's first kontrabida role though; she played the antagonist in the 2000 movie Minsan, Minahal Kita headlined by Sharon Cuneta and Richard Gomez. But unlike that movie role, Angel said that she needs to internalize Vera's character everyday, which she describes as therapeutic. "Halos araw-araw ginagawa [and] it feels good," she shared. "Medyo cathartic lang siya nang konti. Parang release mo siya kasi you can't be that way in real life so Vera is someone I know now I can be if I just turn it on."
Although she enjoys the role which has earned her many praises from critics and viewers, Angel said that she does not want to be typecast as a kontrabida so she intends to take a break from similar roles after Magkaribal. "Baka ma-stereotype na, eh. It might be hard to outdo Vera kasi sabihin na nila, 'Oh she's just doing another Vera.' So let's just break away from Vera after this. Let's leave Vera after this. Let's leave her alone for a while and let her be remembered as she is. Maybe later on I can do another kontrabida role."
She also related how many people now approach her whenever she goes to the mall to commend her performance in Magkaribal. While she is happy about the recognition, she added that she could not help but think at times that other people dislike her because of her role. Angel said that some people have expressed their dislike of her character because of the way she treats her daughter (portrayed by Erich Gonzales). "A lot of people are affected by the way I treat Erich more than how I treat the characters of Gretchen (Barretto) and Bea Alonzo."

Ejay Falcon and Queenie Padilla attended the Star Magic Ball together. Ejay described his leading lady as someone who is easy to get along with. He also related that during the first days of their acting workshops, Robin Padilla’s daughter noticed that Ejay was acting distant so she approached him in an effort to get rid of the awkwardness. “Sinabi niya (Queenie) nung workshop namin, ‘kinakabahan ka ba dahil tatay ko si Robin?’” Ejay answered yes, and added that Robin is his idol so he has so much respect for him. Queenie then assured Ejay that he has nothing to worry about because her dad is a kind man.
Jon Avila was seen last September 5 on the Star Magic Ball proving that he is still under ABS-CBN's talent arm Star Magic despite signing a non-exclusive contract with the burgeoning network, TV5. Jon also clarified that his deal with the station has the blessing of his Star Magic bosses.
The 34th National MILO Marathon holds 17 elimination races nationwide. Celebrities such as Gerald Anderson, Karylle and Toni Gonzaga joined the marathon events. In line with this, they also made a TV commercial for Milo.
