Girl Star Power Times 3 on The Buzz

That's it for THE BUZZ with its 2 new hosts Toni Gonzaga and Charlene Gonzales plus KC Concepcion, of course.

For the past couple of weeks now, many people kept on guessing and speculating as to who would replace Kris Aquino, whose last episode on the showbiz-oriented talk show was last June 27.

Before Charlene joined Boy Abunda and KC Concepcion on stage, a VTR was shown with Charlene’s husband, actor Aga Muhlach, who said that he knew his wife missed being active in showbiz. “Hindi lang niya sinasabi ‘yan pero I’m really sure she missed it,” he said, who added that he is also excited about his wife’s showbiz comeback.

Charlene said that it has always been her dream to work with Boy and she finally got the chance through The Buzz. “Life works in mysterious ways ‘di ba? At katulad ng sinabi mo (Boy), kailangan handa din tayo sa change,” said the former beauty queen. “At pumayag ang asawa ko. Maraming salamat, bhie (term of endearment with Aga), ha. He was supposed to be here today but may shooting para sa movie niya with Angel (Locsin).”

Asked what made her accept the offer to host the entertainment program, Charlene’s interesting response was, “Well, ayoko nang maging safe.”

Toni, on the other hand, got emotional during her welcome because in accepting to be host on The Buzz, she had to give up her stint on Saturday showbiz talk show Entertainment Live. She thanked her former E-Live co-hosts, Bianca Gonzalez, Mariel Rodriguez and Luis Manzano, whom she considers her siblings in showbiz. Toni also thanked Boy, who paved the way for her to become part of The Buzz. “Isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit ako nakatayo dito ay dahil sa ‘yo,” she addressed the King of Talk.

Toni said that she is ready to be the host of The Buzz and is looking forward to working with the best. When teased that she is a chismosa, Toni clarified, “Hindi po ako chismosa, ako po ay talagang keen observer.”

Director Cathy Garcia-Molina on Midnight Phantom

Director Cathy Garcia-Molina takes on another Precious Hearts Romances project with Rafael Rosell, Denise Laurel and Inah Raymundo in Midnight Phantom. Direk Cathy describes Midnight Phantom as the most "cryptic" of the installments so far. "Actually this was offered to me before Bud Brothers. Ito dapat ang una kong gagawin kaya lang na-decide [ng management] na Bud Brothers muna. And I really like the story because it is something different, it is not your typical love story kasi ang lalim ng story niya: love, betrayal, revenge, very different from all the Precious Hearts na we showed already. Mas matapang and mas dark, mas violent," Direk Cathy shared.

Direk Cathy said the sexy scenes are always a concern on the show. "It was one of the problems talaga, especially yung timeslot namin, where all the kids are at home, so andun yung moral responsibility and it was really taken into consideration. So we had to adjust to our audience, we have to make it parental guidance, general patronage. Personally, hindi ko kaya na magpalabas sa TV ng ganito, sa pelikula gagawin ko yan pero responsibilidad kasi natin yung mga bata."

Direk Cathy confessed that she used to have a poor opinion of the show's lead star, Rafael Rosell. "[Sinasabi ko dati], hindi naman siya marunong umarte, hindi naman gwapo. Sinabihan ako nila Direk Lauren Dyogi na cast po [ng Bud Brothers] si Rafael—na-sad po ako. First day of shoot ng episode niya with Mariel Rodriguez (in the Bud Brothers). I met him. Late Z. Yun pala made-up na, binawi ko agad yung pagalit ko and after that, no looking back na po. Rafael has proven himself to me and I think to the audience that he is an actor and I believe in his capacity and ability, and ang gwapo niya pala."

Ina Raymundo Returns to TV via Midnight Phantom

Inah Raymundo is happy to be back on TV in Precious Hearts Romances Presents Midnight Phantom which is top-billed by Rafael Rosell and Denise Laurel. She admits that she just doesn't accept offers for projects because her family is her priority but when she learned the story of Midnight Phantom, she found it beautiful she got excited to do it. "Nung una kasi hindi ako committed dito, kasi takot ako sa commitment because of my family, pero nung nangyari ito, I am so glad na tinanggap ko. Nami-miss [ko] talaga [yung pag-arte], yun naman yung one of the reasons kung bakit ako bumalik, maganda yung role kasi very complex, very dark and at the same time, yung character ko parang actress na actress ang dating ko. Halos lahat ng eksena umiiyak ako si Direk Cathy (Garcia-Molina) ang galing galing magpa-iyak."

But while working on the series, Inah got pregnant which resulted in major adjustments. "Hindi pa kami tapos mag-tape, three days pa. Nahihirapan si Direk Cathy Garcia Molina kasi first time niya mag-direct ng buntis na artista. So puro daya yung shots. Kaya siya yung na-challenge talaga. Pinapanood ko may mga scenes na medyo malaman na ang face ko, dati ng payat payat." Inah is eight months pregnant now, and will be giving birth to a baby girl any time in August.

But without the fun of showbiz work, Inah is already a fulfilled wife and mother to her husband and kids. "Kapag ako nanganak, devoted mom talaga ako, buong mundo ko nagre-revolve around talaga sa baby and the kids. I am happy and content na talaga. I love my kids so much. source of joy. Nakakatuwa talaga kasi first thing in the morning una mong makikita yung mga anak mo. Ang saya saya."

Angel Locsin on Hale's New Music Video

Kapamilya star Angel Locsin will have a special appearance in Hale's new music video titled "Magkaibang Mundo." Hale aims to rule the music charts anew with their fourth single, "Magkaibang Mundo," from their latest album “Kundiman” under PolyEast Records. Recall that their previous singles including "Bahay Kubo," "Kalesa," and "Harinawa" all topped the charts as with other songs from previous albums especially “The Day You Said Goodnight,” which made the band a household name in 2005. The video for “Magkaibang Mundo” was directed by Nani Naguit and it features a cameo role done by Angel Locsin. Hale frontman and “Mundo” songwriter Champ Lui Pio shares, “For this video, it was really a team effort. The team brainstormed and really helped each other build the whole video from story line, to cinematography, color grading, editing – everything. What makes this video really special is the effort poured into it. You can really see and feel the passion the people put behind it.” Champ continues, “Angel is truly an angel from heaven. To be honest, we were working on a limited budget for this video. She was gracious enough to appear on the video and do it for free. She was so involved and patient with us despite having to deal with obstacles during the shoot. Hands down to her! It was an experience that we will never forget.” The song "Magkaibang Mundo" is about "recollecting past memories and rekindling precious moments of a past love. Wondering what life would have been if fate had gone in a different path. The person struggles to move on and cannot deny the passion he has for the other.” "In the end, love prevails, hope will rise. But it might just be a little too late,” says Champ. The best part of the song, lyrically and vocally, is found in the bridge as Champ starts to sing the lines: “Walang balakid / Walang makakapigil / Ang iyong pangalan / Sigaw ng damdamin / Hindi alam kung saan tutungo / Kung wala ka”. Champ is thankful for Hale’s latest feat. He says, “For now, I'm just grateful for the experience shooting the video. I’m really, really happy with it. And I’m excited to share it to everyone.” "Magkaibang Mundo" music video is slated for release on MYX premiere on July 11 at 8 a.m. The album “Kundiman” is still on record shelves "Magkaibang Mundo" is also the official theme song of Angel and John Lloyd [Cruz] upcoming fantaserye "Imortal" on ABS-CBN.
