Noli de Castro Returns to ABS-CBN

Former Vice-President Noli “Kabayan” De Castro returns to ABS-CBN via its AM radio station DZMM.

Kabayan makes his return to full-time radio broadcasting on Monday (July 12), via the two-hour program “Kabayan: Kapangyarihan ng Mamamayan, Balita at Talakayan” on DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable ch. 26).

After nine years in public service, De Castro is looking forward to fire up mornings once again with the day’s biggest news and to deliver assistance to Filipinos in need from Monday to Friday, 5am to 7am. “Broadcasting is my first and one true love. This is what I love to do and I’m very excited about how people will accept me,” he said.

De Castro, a recipient of countless awards and possibly the most recognizable Filipino broadcaster in history, further strengthens DZMM’s morning block which includes “Tambalang Failon at Sanchez” with Ted Failon and Pinky Webb and “Dos Por Dos” with Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja.

His return to primetime radio came in time for the anniversary month of DZMM, which is celebrating its 24th year. DZMM recently bagged the Rotary Club of Manila Journalism Award for Radio Station of the Year.

“DZMM will only give the best and the first when it comes to both news and in public service. We proved this true once again with Kabayan’s return and DZMM TeleRadyo’s expansion abroad. These only show our undying commitment to Filipinos all over the world,” ABS-CBN Head for Manila Radio Division and Sports Peter Musngi said.

Rumor has it that Noli will also revive his "Magandang Gabi, Bayan!" TV show.

Spongebob Squarepants Soon to be a Kapamilya!

An ABS-CBN insider said that Spongebob Squarepants will soon become a Kapamilya.

Ang nakakatawang cartoon program na “SpongeBob SquarePants” ay napapanood sa TV5. Ito ay isa sa mga kinagigiliwang panoorin ng mga kabataang pinoy ngayon dahil mataas ang rating na nakukuha nito sa AGB Nielsen Mega Manila overnight surveys. Katunayan, ang 30-minuto na programa ni Spongebob Squarepants ay ilang beses nang nakapasok sa Top 10 daytime programs sa Mega Manila. Isa ito sa mga programa ng TV5 gaya ng Talentadong Pinoy, Midnight DJ at Who Wants to Be a Millionaire na naka-penetrate sa AGB Mega Manila TV Ratings na karaniwang pinaglalabanan lamang ng ABS-CBN at GMA.

Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo Ends This Friday!

"Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo" was launched as part of the 60 year Anniversary of Philippine soap opera which premiered last January 18, 2010. The teleserye has a powerfil cast consisting of Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Gina Pareno, Maricar Reyes, Coco Martin, Jacklyn Jose, Albert Martinez, Gabby Concepcion and Kris Aquino.

Charlene Gonzales Returned as Kapamilya via The Buzz

Aside from Toni Gonzaga, Charlene Gonzales will also join The Buzz replacing Kris Aquino. It will be remembered that Kris Aquino and Charlene Gonzales had some word war two years ago when Kris made a sordid remark to Charlene in a gala show of Randy Ortiz saying, "Pa-star ka!" in front of so many people because Charlene Gonzales' gown did not match the set motif.

Charlene Gonzales has been a Kapamilya since 1995 as host of the sunday noontime show ASAP, then switched to ABC-5 (now TV-5) and GMA7. She returned to ABS-CBN in 1998 to host the dance show "Keep on Dancing" which lasted until 2001. She also joined the sitcom "Okidokidoc" in 1999 where she met her husband Aga Muhlach. She became a talk show host via Feel at Home (2002 - 2004) and At Home Ka Dito (2004 - 2007). From then on, she took a hiatus from showbusiness and did some appearances in other networks. But don't fail to watch her return as a Kapamilya this Sunday, July 13 at The Buzz.

Toni Gonzaga is The Buzz New Host

Toni Gonzaga is replacing host Kris Aquino on top rating celebrity talk show “The Buzz,” ABS-CBN has announced.

During the unveiling of its programs for the second half of 2010, the Kapamilya network disclosed that Gonzaga will join Boy Abunda and KC Concepcion in the weekly showbiz talk show.

In her previous interviews, Gonzaga confirmed that her camp was already meeting with the management of ABS-CBN to discuss the possibility of her replacing Aquino, who left “The Buzz” on June 27 in an emotional and controversial farewell.

When asked about the progress of the negotiations, Gonzaga, however, declined to give additional details.

Nonetheless, Gonzaga, one of the hosts of ABS-CBN afternoon program “Entertainment Live,” said it would be an honor to work again with Abunda.

She said: “It’s always a pleasure to work with Tito Boy. Siguro it’s an honor na rin for me kasi being with someone in the business noong bago pa lang ako, siya ‘yong nag-interview sa akin. Noong bata pa lang ako napapanood ko na siya sa iba’t ibang talk shows before. Nabigyan ako ng pagkakataon na maka-trabaho siya sa SNN (Showbiz News Ngayon) noong nag-substitute kami kay Ate Kris. Malaking bagay na rin sa akin ‘yon. Ang dami kong natutunan sa kanya.”

Aquino has also quit SNN. She was replaced by Bianca Gonzalez.

New Hosts of E-Live Revealed!

Actress-host Nikki Gil and “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon” reporter Cesca Litton are now the newest hosts of weekly entertainment show "Entertainment Live (E-Live)."

Litton and Gil, who will join Luis Manzano and Mariel Rodriguez on E-Live, are taking the slots of Toni Gonzaga and Bianca Gonzalez. Gonzaga and Gonzalez are the new hosts of “The Buzz” and “SNN,” respectively.

Gil said she is “very, very excited” with her new hosting job.

"I've always wanted to be a part of something like that. So, I'm very thankful na binigyan ako ng pagkakataon ng ABS-CBN, and of course E-Live, to share with them what I have to offer," Gil said in an interview during her first exclusive contract signing with ABS-CBN.

She noted that E-Live provides a venue for artists to air their side.

"Hindi siya completely na mambabato lang ng intriga. I mean E-live will help the artists to explain themselves and I'm happy to be part of E-Live," Gil said.

Gil is also happy to be working alongside Manzano and Rodriguez.

"To begin with ay mga kasundo ko naman na talaga sila, Luis, I worked with him sa MYX and Rounin. Mariel as well. I did Wowowee for a season," Gil said.

According to Gil, she will join the weekly entertainment program right after she finishes musical show "Legally Blonde," which will run until July 18.

Litton, on the other hand, said she is lucky to have landed a hosting job on E-Live after Kris Aquino decided to leave "The Buzz" and "SNN" to help her brother, President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.

"So, nag-reshuffle sila ng hosts so I guess medyo sinuwerte ako na ako ‘yong napili to host E-Live," said Litton.

Litton also revealed that she auditioned for the job. Like Gil, she signed her first exclusive contract with the Kapamilya network on Tuesday .
