I didn't know that Claudine Barretto's drama anthology has already ended. I just knew it when I checked the TNS ratings and I was surprised that GMA7 has started another contender for the longest running, award-winning, critically-acclaimed drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya. This time, it is not a drama but a comedy sitcom. But as expected, based on the TNS/Kantar ratings for August 4, MMK fare 25.4% as compared to the Eugene Domingo starrer Jejemom with 21.5%.
But let us know how Claudine fared against MMK for its 16 weeks of existence on Philippine television.
As you see on the comparative table, the ratings based on TNS/Kantar are very consistent. MMK garnered the lowest of 29.6 and the highest of 35.8. While Claudine is faring from 12.8 to 18.5. On the other hand, the ratings are quite different in AGB. At the start, when they were releasing household ratings, Claudine's ratings are almost comparable to the TNS ratings, but for MMK, it was 10 points lower making the difference smaller between the two shows. But when they began to release the so-called, questionable "PEOPLE'S RATINGS", the difference became just more or less 1 point and there was one time that Claudine beat MMK with 0.2 points. There are also some instances that they didn't release the ratings. This, in my own opinion, makes AGB not so credible enough. In the world of televisions, numbers are very important. But please don't scrutinize these numbers. Advertisers are intelligent enough to know that.
But the real issue here is Claudine Barretto. What did she get from switching stations? ABS-CBN created her into stardom, while GMA 7 pushed her to stardoom.
